    Those arguments you have presented have already been debunked. There is no evidence to suggest that the EU negotiators will have gotten a better deal. There is also certain proof that the EU will trade with us, yes even a country with a completely pathetic 62 million people same with India, China ect, try South Korea which have 50 million, and which exports strongly to the EU. Our population would still be quite large in global terms, 62 million is a BIG powerful country (that’s why the EU are so desparate to keep us in the union)! Our power from within an integrated union will be far less than indepedently because in the EU we are a semi-permanent minority, the others (France/Germany particularly) dominate the EU, and we will, and do, what they say.

    The people most upset about influence loss say “Britain’s influence” but they don’t really mean that, they mean their influence with their similar minded integrationists in Europe.

    Because the EU is about being “little Europe” in the same way as they suggest people who disagree with them are “little Englanders”. The only real benefit I can see to the EU strategy is that it makes the European market into a protected trade zone for the mighty German economy to sell it’s wares to. It’s not a benefit for Britain though as we have a trade deficit (we buy than we sell!). Britain outside the EU could make its own arrangements with the East in terms of trade. Of course what the policies would actually be is impossible to say as it would vary from government to government. The pro-integrationists make the argument constantly that as a bigger block we would get better trade deals, but looking at the current situation, particularly of the US/China suggests this would not be the case. If anything, the UK being a outside the EU, and with a strong financial services sector, could actually give it more options to profit from Asia-EU trade.

    @J Boyle

    Nobody is opposed to a free trade agreement. It’s everything else that people don’t like, the regulations and the costs particularly. As for sovereignty, whilst officially it’s “shared sovereignty”, we are in a semi-permanent minority in the EU as the others generally want different things to us, so whilst we do have a say, we tend to get outvoted. In this case it makes more sense to go it alone.

    People have a right to die IMO. I think him being kept alive as a punishment would be a good idea, but obviously he should be sentenced to that by a court.

    The police/paper creating drama where there is none, again! Ok, he’s guilty of the sexual offences, but I don’t see a problem with most of the other stuff.

    Training Bombs
    Bayonets
    Military Knives
    Aircraft Parts
    Antique Militaria
    Flare Guns

    Legal

    Machine Guns
    Aircraft Cannon
    Rifles
    Pistols

    Perfectly legal to own deactivated weapons, and they probably were!

    Ammunition

    Probably blank type rounds. Also I think shotgun rounds can be had without a licence too.

    Cordite Explosive

    It’s a low explosive, so probably from fireworks.

    Standing naked in your neighbours garden observing them whilst you do sexual acts

    Illegal

    Don’t forget how Gordon Brown was prevented from lowering VAT as much as he wanted because of European rules.

    The fact that you look down upon young people does not make them the deaths waiting to happen that you seem to believe. The people that are the biggest risk on the road on motorbikes are middle aged men who are born again bikers. Mid life crisis, buys motorbike, pushes it too far, dies. Younger riders have a chance to make mistakes on small bikes, 50cc and 125cc motorbikes, so when they come off while learning they are far less likely to die. Middle aged men think they know it all, so they go out thinking they are the best riders going, hop on the fastest most bad ass bike and stick it straight into a tree.

    Warning to ‘born again bikers’
    “North Wales Police say most bikers killed are likely to be white men aged 35 or over, from the north west of England or the Midlands, who have recently returned to motorcycling.”

    Born Again Bikers Blamed For Dramatic Rise In Motorbike Accidents
    In the last decade there has been a notable rise in motorcycle accidents, and police are suggesting that men in their 30s and 40s are largely at fault.

    Really? Well here’s one, the motorbike regulations that nobody needs nor wants in the UK. The current regulations on motorbikes in the UK work just fine!

    http://www.dft.gov.uk/consultations/dft-2011-26

    Oh, and there was the EU motorbike licencing regulations introduced a couple years ago that caused the UK to have to implement a two part motorbike test, mod 1 off road and mod 2 on road, instead of a single practical test as is the case for cars and was the case for motorbikes! This of course meant that off road space was needed for a whole load of different mini tests including a 30mph swerve around an obstacle. This in turn meant that the UK needed to make a vast number of new, and quite expensive, test centres across the UK bumping up test fees for new young drivers of all vehicles who are struggling with existing costs.

    @Arthur Pewtey
    I notice you keep avoiding the question “should the British people get a vote?”. Yes, we can all repeat ourselves.
