909
Jules – thanks – hope you are doing OK Sir
I flew into Burbank from Brackett on the transit hop for 909 – Must have been about 25 minutes but it sure was a fun ride – was sat behind the CP on engine start so it was particularly good . The Collings people are a very professional bunch

Glenn Rohjohn
I saw Glenn at the 100th BG Reunion in 1999 at Cincinatti – he as promoted as he was POW after that crash and therefore missed his promotion so it was done at the reunion albeit 60 years later – better late than never .Glenn had a very big grin on his face !

Prop discs
Yeah Wade – Charles has to be the master on props and his message is getting through to a lot more aviation artists – its ironic that such a great artist like Charles is less well known than many on the Mass Produced Print Market
Paul Allen B17 E – ex Bolivian CP 753
I know its a long shot but does anyone know how Mr Allens B17 restoration is going in Arlington WA – i am wondering what paint scheme he will choose ,
think Yankee Doodle is a historically significant name ,Any other guesses !!!!!
Nice work
Nice work Wade – your love for the P51 shows thru and your technical feel for the aircraft , Mustangs at Dawn also awesome – nice cool against warm feel to it – very effective , keep up the good work when you get time !!sounds like you are one busy bloke , do you do aviation art full time ?

Tom and his Mustang
Great thread this – what a lucky chap Tom is , sounds like he has a great life ,look forward to seeing his next aviation themed Movie
Interestingly a Californian friend wrote this :
Thanks, this was timely, I just finished watching a tape I made Friday of him on an interview show on the ABC network. The ads for the show had a P-51 siting static in the background and I was curious so I popped in a tape and sort of forgot about it. Before the interview part, the tape opens with him in flight at the controls with a female passenger and two wingmen / photo P-51s

I like the cool Mustang against the warm sky ,props great too – it has a lot of dynamism and I can hear the racket all those Merlins are making …awesome !!!
FHC P47
Photo of this P47 IN MOST RECENT FLYPAST
It looks like a shiny new pin !! beautiful
Test Flown by Steve Hinton
[The only thing lacking was having BlueNose P-51’s of the 352nd FG chasing down “Black Six” like they did back in 1944-45 ! The photography and editing on the project are excellent. Hope you have a Mustang project in the works. BlueNoser352!!!!
Yup – aggree a P51 in this series would be very very cool and a best seller along with the rest of the classics
Spitfire Story available on ebay from sconnors ebay store
P51
Wade – i like the composistion a lot – and can imagine the roar of those Merlins – its very evocative and aesthetically pleasing – your love for the P51 shines thru more every time ,will add one I did recently – a/c model constructed by Joe De Marco’s APM

Bailing out
Jules – you wondered if you had to bail out would you be able to stand (due to frozen legs ) – maybe the fear and adrenaline would give you amazing power – glad you didn’t have to in the end ,your accounts just raise my respect and appreciation for Men of your Generation . When I see 909 at Burbank in April I will imagine you stood at the back door being docent .I will also mention you to the crew and see what respone i get 🙂
