Mythbuster here.
Of the general elections since 1945 only two results would changed significantly if the Scottish Labour MP contingent had been removed.
In 1964 a narrow Labour majority would have been a narrow Conservative one and in Feb 1974 a Labour minority would have turned into a Conservative minority.
In 2010, a Conservative majority would have resulted rather than a minority administration requiring a coalition.
All other election results would have been the same.
And idiot owners should not assume that all children are comfortable around dogs. When my daughter was three a dog jumped at her with the idiot owner’s comment “he’s only playing”. Brilliant. My daughter was for a while terrified of dogs and only recently is she able to go anywhere near dogs (she’s now ten).
Some examples of where the child was very definitely not to blame.

Dog to blame? – Definitely
Owners to blame? – probably
Child to blame? No
I bet most attacks by dogs on children are child invoked but they don’t make the headlines so you don’t get the dogs side of things.Headlines sell but child teasing, abusing, the dog who then reacts the only way it knows how doesn’t have the same sensationalist impact.
If children cant be trusted with an animal then the parents should keep the child away or teach it correctly.
I’m struggling to see how a sleeping 11 month old baby or a 6 day old baby could provoke a dog.
Good to see there is still interest. The aircraft is at the runway viewing park at Manchester airport along with Concorde G-BOAC, Nimrod XV231 and Trident G-AWZK. The RJX is open most days, even when we’re working on it. We’ll be there this coming Saturday to carry on the work.

Indeed. It may be a lot less of an issue than Farage and (sorry I can’t think of any other UKIP people) might think. The UK population are probably more interested in issues like unemployment, the economy, the environment, law and order, defence, etc. in which UKIP have shown an almost total disinterest.
At the moment the BBC is giving UKIP vote as 27.5% of a 34.19% turnout which I reckon means 9.4% of the electorate voted UKIP. The turnout is a bigger concern and how anyone can take any comfort from the fact the 2/3rds didn’t even vote. Farage may think that he is reflecting what the British people think but when only a 1/3rd bother to vote then that claim sounds very hollow.
Perhaps when the dust settles after this “earthquake” then UKIP can be questioned about policies other then the EU or immigration. That should prove interesting. Their last manifesto looked as if it had been taken from a 12-year-old’s “When I’m Prime Minister” assignment.
I would generally put a skylight filter on to protect the lens. A lens may be unaffected by damage but the price when you come to sell it definitely will be. A filter helps keeps the front element clean and in the event of an accident, I’d rather replace a £20 filter than a £500 lens.
I haven’t used a polarizing filter for years – not since I shot monochrome film
They’re not too shabby at all Alan. Looks like you’ve nailed the exposure. A tiny bit of post processing is all that’s required; levelling the picture, boosting the contrast on that last Spitfire shot and a wee bit of cropping here and there and they would be as good as any others on here.
Doesn’t do any harm to be self critical though.
