Unemployment benefit accounts for 3% of the welfare budget. Almost half of the welfare budget is on the state pension. I take that everyone is happy with reforms for all benefit recipients or just those that are being stigmatized by our government?
A large percentage of benefits is paid to those already in work in order to give them a living wage – something employers seem reluctant to do and the government seems reluctant to tackle.

The ignorance shown on this thread is staggering, centuries of discovery, fine-tuning of theories and laws dismissed as ” no-one knows” No, we don’t know everything but we know an awful lot more than we used to.

And I am incredulous that anybody could suggest that ‘less reading’ is the way to find out about the universe we live in!
