Or use that loose change to buy “TV Choice” magazine, a bargain at only 38p. You get maybe get a copy at the Post Office when you’re in next.

If you want to be truly hated, go the post office between 12 and 1pm. That’s the only chance that those in work get to go to the post office. They normally only get 30-45 minutes for lunch and are pushed for time anyway, so people going to the post office unnecessarily around that time are especially detested.

Our government are donating on our behalf. What’s the point in the EU donation? Why not just reduce our EU tariffs, and enable us to give more to worthy causes directly? We don’t need a European dictatorship to be charitable.

I suspect your objection is to the EU itself. Nothing to do with donations, charitable or otherwise.

His whole post was questioning the legitimacy of the EU sending more of our money overseas. You described it as “moaning” – I would describe it as prudence, something that most, UK and EU alike seem to lack these days. It should be remembered that the money we are giving is not our own wealth, we are borrowing money to give it away. So on top of our healthy donations, there’ll be millions of pounds in interest to pay too.

There isn’t the same acrimony towards UK government donations that exists towards the EU’s contribution. Don’t you think that’s odd?.

Good for you Lincoln_7. You would however be better taking it to a bank. Those Coinstar machines cost you 9%.

So, you believe that a political body is beyond scrutiny when being charitable?

Where did I say that? I was pointing out that charliehunt is using the fact the that EU gave money to charity (without his permission apparently) as a reason to have a go at the EU. It’s pathetic frankly.

It’s a wonder he hasn’t had a go at the BBC in the same post TBH. Maybe that’ll be later.

So are the Philippines going to become a hot-bed of organized crime because it is EU money they are getting?

And that’s on top of whatever the 28 members have donated as national contributions. WHY? Did they ask us?? Answer: because it is desperate to project itself as a “state” hence its huge foreign budget and overpaid “Representative”!!

I have seen reasons for moaning about the EU but this one takes the biscuit. It is giving money to help to recover from a natural disaster FFS. Jeez……

So do you think CiN would be as successful if there were no celebrities involved or wasn’t broadcast on the BBC? Of course it wouldn’t, over £30m raised in ONE night?
