What Zebedee posted looks like the rig (I can’t remember what we called it – SIR was it??)we used to use to assess the early flight tests. It looks the same anyway. The whole fuselage of XV147 was moved from Woodford in the 1990s I think. Maybe they kept the nose section when they scrapped it?

So what? This forum is (apparently) moderated and everyone has to abide by the rules – or at least that was what I thought.
To those that seem to prefer unmoderated forums, why do you come here?

I don’t think anyone has any doubts about the scale of what Jimmy Savile did. That doesn’t stop any individual from feeling that any post or image is inappropriate for this forum. That’s all some of us are saying.

Equating a former PM to a serial paedophile is not the sort of thing I expect to see here. I know it’s the sort of thing that is texted around between individuals but it wouldn’t normally be repeated here.
I appreciate that it was intended as a joke but surely even those with the sickest sense of humour could see that it was likely to cause offence. Indeed, I suspect that may have been the intention.

One other aspect of this episode that has been distinctly unsavory rounding on those who dared to criticize. Not nice at all but not unexpected.

It is indeed a open forum but if something is posted that causes offence then it should be removed. All that had to happy was that Moggy removed the offending image and apologize for any offence caused. End of problem.

It was clear that a political point was being made (and still is at times) in a fairly disgraceful way. I understand that the moderators stick together but like or not, they will be judged as moderators, in whatever they post. Posting this was ill-judged at best and should have nipped in the bud this morning. The fact it remains speaks volumes about the way Key treats its own. Others have been banned for less.

Edgar’s point about security is a fair point but all that needed was posting of the photo but without the idiotic caption.

Well, I have raised a formal complaint so lets see what Key Publications have to say.
