And they’re off…..
The Daily Mail reading “aren’t foreigners terrible people” brigade.
Maybe we need to look closer to home rather than try and blame everything on foreigners.

Not before time. I never understood why he couldn’t have been deported years ago.

Jet lag has to do with interruption of your body’s circadian rhythm caused by travelling over multiple time-zones. I’m struggling to see how even the wonderful 787 can change that – perhaps only when it goes tech:D.
They had raised the money for the memorial but were 500k short which was needed to pay for the opening ceremony. According to today’s press, CMD has stepped in and said that the government will pay for the shortfall.

There was no doubt he was a huge personality, a powerful one at that.
were neither man (or woman) enough to stand up to him.
You may have answered your own point.

And just how exactly is the 787 going to cure jet lag I wonder? The only way to avoid jet-lag is don’t go anywhere.
These are rather more than “rumours” though. These are accusations from alleged victims. These “rumours” are serious enough for the Met to look at.
As far as accusations of muck-raking by the press, isn’t this exactly the sort of thing they should be bringing to our attention? While I’m sure there are plenty that would like to see this whole affair swept under the carpet, it’s too late now.

Indeed. Probably worth quoting here too.

Many people have wondered why we have not included Woodford in tomorrow’s sortie.
We have already flown over Woodford this year, on Sunday 9th September – the nearest date that we could make to the exact 60th Anniversary of the Vulcan’s first flight on 30th August 1952.
Sadly, we were unable to make any prior announcement of this overflight, because the new owners of Woodford Aerodrome specifically requested us not to, citing concerns about crowds on local roads, and their current sensitivities over planning applications for the site.
For these reasons, and because of the extra fuel (and therefore cost) required, we decided not to add Woodford to tomorrow’s sortie.
Obviously it’s always a shame when people miss something like this, but VttS must respect the wishes of the site owners.
And the name of the company that owns Woodford is….?
Avro Heritage. How ironic. I’m detecting BS methinks.
I’ll be surprised if the new owners even know what heritage means.

A Diamond Jubilee Tour is planned for the Vulcan this Saturday 29th September, (subject to weather and technical conditions) visiting locations that played a key role in developing this remarkable aircraft.
No indeed, why on earth would Woodford be included? It was only built, tested and delivered from there.
