I agree with Eric, whilst gliders are not every bodies cup of tea there are many thousands of people in the UK who learnt to fly with the ATC and have fond memories of them. The T.21 stored at Stafford or Prefect in store at Cosford ought to be on public display at Cosford. I am sure they could hang one of them up from the roof of the main hangar.
I was previously aware that it had been done but this was the first time I had seen any photos or video of it. Simply great, I wander what Mr Boeing will do next?
I hope so. I had stopped visiting it due to it being so slow.

Eton was the military name for the EON Primary. To the best of my knowledge there is no difference between the mil and civil aircraft. There is no plate for the construction number and I think you will be unlikely to find one the glider. My EON Eton has no construction number anywhere on the glider. There should be a small sunken area on the fuselage where the construction number would have been either painted on or printed on paper and stuck to it.
I can’t add much to what has been already said on this thread as I am currently living on the other side of the globe some 8,000 miles from my records. I’m not sure where Eric is coming from in post 16 with regard to FF & RF numbers as the only Slingsby glider which had a detachable rear fuselage is the T.38 Grasshopper – and yes there are many of these where the serials don’t match.
I’m finding this thread quite interesting so keep posting!
Definitely a Let LF-109 Pionyr.
Side slipping into the undershoot fence is simply poor airmanship! There is no need to touch down just in side the fence as the runway is plenty long enough to make a normal landing. An important aircraft has been damaged in my mind by sheer stupidity. My heart goes out to those who now have this extra job of repairing the aircraft.
Quite frankly the money would have been spent better restoring some of the aircraft currently in store or even perhaps on the fuselage rather than raising a piece of junk off the sea bed.
The one at Kemble has moved across the airfield to the cutting up area. I can’t say I’ll be sorry to see the end of it!
I can’t believe it was that long ago. Its making me feel old. A great aircraft.
VC10 or lack of it. The RAF Museum has missed a real trick with not having one any more! Frankly I think its disgusting.
I don’t know whether it is appropriate for me to post the name of the pilot but I think this accident involved Grob G-102 Astir CS RAFGGA 511 which spun in killing the female pilot.
To all those involved in this project well done. Its great to see the aircraft in camo rather that the all over grey scheme of more recent years. I look forward to coming to see it.
