Yes I have an electronic copy – Its 147 MB. drop me a PM.
I have loaded many different types of helicopters and aircraft into C-130, Belfast C-17 and C5. With the correct transportation trestles and handling equipment there is no reason for the aircraft to get damaged. The real issue of moving the Typhoon lies in locating the correct strong points for trestling and restraining the aircraft to the ULD. The RAF has in recent years transported a Spitfire by C-130 without damaging it, so the Typhoon should be well within its capabilities.
Mexicanbob – I concur with your post.
Rob, I have that brochure. Thanks.
Richard, somebody offers you the smaller type I’ll do you a swap as I am still looking for one!
Having flown in this very aircraft on many occasions I look forward to visiting it.
See Comet XK699 thread.
At 07.35 this morning she was still sat on her undercarriage with both wings, tailplanes and fin still attached looking in her rather neglected but normal state. I viewed her from the main road so I do not know if any holes had been cut in her which were not visible. My guess is that it was just a rumour on Facebook. I will make the effort to go and have another look this afternoon.
I saw a post on Facebook saying she was being chopped up today. On the way to work I drove past the main gate to have a look. Whilst it was dark and difficut to see she did appear to be stood on her undercarriage in the normal location. I shall drive past the gate on the way home from work when it is daylight to take another look.
As for te angle grinder type noises I’m not so sure. There is a lot of demilition work going on at Lyneham at present where digger buckets are scraping against Concrete. All the old type barrack blocks are gone.
I hope Facebook is wrong.
None of the RAF Britannia fleet was preserved by the RAF either and they were disposed off after Hendon opened. I was told by the person that refused to grant permission for the VC10 to land at Cosford that the plan was now for it to be moved by road. I watch with interest.
I went in 1982 and again last year. No problems with taking photos on either occasion. A great place to visit and I would recommend it to anybody.

I always thought the aircraft looked better in these colours
The interior shots bring back some great memories. The best flights were always those where the walking freight was out numbered by the non walking and unable to answer back freight. I too have many hours in these wonderful beasts. Gone but never forgotten.
Very sad day indeed but the real scandal is that there will not be one at Cosford. If the RAF Museum can’t save a 10 then I guess there is no hope of seeing the Lockheed Tri-motor being preserved. Perhaps I should just be grateful that they at least managed to save one of Lyneham’s finest for future generations to see.
Any more shots of the Minimoa?….. Please?
It comes as no surprise to me to see that the Hercules force is determined to see the Herc gets a better send off than the 10.
