Power up the god damn Speys Son…
Aye…….. RUNNING!!!
Ha-ha!
I read the title of this thread wrong…. I thought it was saying that the F111 will continue to operate after retirement from the RAAF 🙂
Phil.
RAF Phantoms
For a good list on survivors, I recommend the ‘Demobbed’ website. As for the pictures you require…. PM me with a more detailed list of what you require.. 🙂
Cool, does anyone have any pictures of the two together?
🙁
A sad end….
Luckily Neil’s wife is almost as plane mad as him now lol. I’m sure he will have it looking well again inbetween display flying in the Newcastle Jet Provost! 😉
Thumbs up!
I’m sure she will look good in the end. Being a ‘Northern’ lad I’m looking forward to eventually seeing ARPO in Northeast Airlines colours… I will continue to follow this thread for more of your updates!
Good Progress!
i’m impressed in how this cut has been tackled.. Will there be any tell tale marks of this having taken place once restored?
HHA
I understand!
Any updates at all would be welcome updates! 🙂
Phil
Ahh… I’m glad of this! Could you please update us on current HHA operations with Hunters and the future plans for the Buccaneer and SU22?
This might be worthy of a new thread starting ‘HHA Eng’??!!
‘Hawker Hunter Aviation Updates’
Cheers,
Phil.
I can confirm that the wings were scrapped and also that 198 also had her upper wing mounts cut off… I guess the only option would be to create some sort of frame to attach to the origional mounts and then build replica plywood wings around them.
Swift F.4 wings were also unique to type.
…..but where is this new home??
Varsity!
Great stuff, thankyou!! I’m pretty sure there was a third Varsity but I could be mistaken…?
Here is the last few taken at RAF Catterick on 26 July 1977.
I know someone was waiting for the pictures of the Varsities at RAF Catterick to appear. I hope you are not too disappointed and that they show one of the aircraft you were/are interested in.
Lastly the second Varsity, WL629.

It would be a mega job to do even with the correct tools and jigs. You are looking at £20k+ easy, probably a lot more….
