RE: Sea Vixen G-CVIX ‘ Foxy Lady’ FOR SALE..!!!
I think the list Glen mentions is in the May 2002 issue of FP for those interested.

RE: XV474
Let’s hope the Leuchars Phantom goes to Yeovilton when its time is finally up on the gate at Scotland.

RE: SWINDON MUSEUMS
Kemble is that far from Swindon I’m sure, if that’s any help.
RE: Aussie Meatbox
Very strange to hear that. A few classic jets have connections with Coventry, the RNHF Sea Hawk and Hunter F6A’s XF515 and XF516 were all built in the city, so would be nice to see them returning ‘home’ for the show.

RE: Save a Sea Vixen
Is this one of the Vixens ‘discovered’ in a hangar at Southampton Airport years ago?

RE: RNAS Yeovilton
Phil,
Sean Maffett made the odd ricket throughout the day, but was more-or-less on the button.
Yes the Vampire is owned by Source but is reportedly up for sale.
The Hunter PR.11 cannot do a Blue Note, because it is a converted F4 and it doesn’t have any gun ports on it 🙂
I thought the display pilot put on a excellent show in it myself.
The Wasp singleton display has been about since 2000 but this is the first time I have ever seen them as a duo, and hopefully not the last.

Couple of corrections – the Venom is owned by Kennet Aviation, along with one of the two Wasps that participated (the camoed example).
I thought the Spit V was flown very sedately myself, but still a very tight routine. Liked the Hunter Flying Club Hunter PR.11 and the Vixen, but being ex-FRADU aeroplanes I would 🙂

RE: Paul Morgan Corsair sold to the USA
I think the arrangement as noted in FP was it would be operated for the 2002 season by ARC.

RE: Seafire LF Mk.III RX168
BWEM indicates that it was registered around 1995-6 I think, bearing in mind that some of OFMC Hunter are registered G-BWFR and ‘BWFS.
Nice to see if it gets rebuilt to fly – I’m not sure if the Wizzard aircraft (I think that is a Mk.3) will remain in the UK for very long, if it hasn’t already left.

RE: Just …
I was reading ceefax on BBC1 at my sister’s house and the words “we are going over to the BBC News Room” caught my attention.
Switched back to the TV and they showed footage of the towers.

Go to Yeovilton Air Day on the 21st, you’re sure to see the ‘Fish and ‘Fly there flying the RNHF flag 🙂
