Get children interested in metal detecting, and I would guarantee they would soon get interested finding out about their finds, I have found Bronze age, Roman and many other items whilst metal detecting, including a Lancaster, that I posted about.
I didn’t like History at school, hormones, girls etc, but when married and with 3 sprogs, developed many and varied hobbies one of which was metal detecting, now I am perhaps more interested in History than at any other time in my life. Thanks to a machine that finds buried metal.

    Lincoln .7

tried it once , i got 5 foot down before i noticed i was wearing my steel toe capped boots !!

No, the (Peugeot) Ryton Assembly Plant was actually built by the Rootes Group to build aircraft engines during the war. Later they built the Hillman Avenger and I think Hillman Imp; it had been taken over by Chrysler by then, or Talbot, remember them? It closed in 2006 and the whole site was flattened shortly afterwards.

yep correct it went hillman , chrysler , talbot , talbot being french is where it became peugot

imps were originaly linwood in scotland and british rail had the contract to transport them by rail !!

I now know a Landy can go downwards, very nearly vertical, in their quarry.

    Lincoln .7

any vehicle can do that !!

granted they have varying degrees of condition at the bottom though !!
