i am utterly amazed at the tearing to pieces this is getting !!

what we have to remember is , it is a documentary made for the masses rather than enthusiasts !!

if you want 100% facts buy a book written by a enthusiast and historian

they put the story accross tremmendously for the masses !!

if it leads to B.N.P. members and promoters and the generaly uneducated morons not using jans spitfire image to promote their race hate campaigns again it may achieve something

sure there were inaccuracys ( most stuff on tv is ) due to directors not being historians but having to learn things that they may never have come accross before

of course the alternative could have been reality tv following a window cleaning company

personaly i enjoyed what they did and it was done very well as well as the traffalgar episode !!

And the London Tabloids are calling for Capello’s head. Unbelieveable and short sighted. He was not the reason they crashed out of the tournament. ther than Wayne Rooney (who obviously underperformed in South Africa) and maybe Dawson or Defoe, who on this current England club would be worth building around for 2014???

    No one!

exactly the first manager that demands the respect and proffesionalism the team should have and it all goes to pot

there wasn’y the passion and pride that should have been there for playing for your country

i’m pretty sure they fielded the special olympics football team ( no sorry , they would have scored more !!! )

we were thrashed by a vastly superior and focused young team !!

in fact we were well and truly mullered !!

argueing about a dissalowed goal germany 4-2 england is still losing
    i’m only amazed it wasn’t 6-1

Hi – I think the intended target was Manchester for the Chrismas eve 1944 V1s, but air launching them proved highly inaccurate and several on this night were carrying leaflets including supposed POW letters which the Germans hoped would generate replies to the POWs concerned, which would then give them clues as to where they came down!!! Ingenious! I have investigated two of the impact sites and found a large section of the tail at one + a local who had one of the leaflets and a reduced size copy of “Signal” Hitler’s colour propaganda magazine – he lent me them to copy but would not part with them.

A good source on this and other air launched “raids” is: Air-Launched Doodlebugs: Hitler’s V 1 Missiles and 111/Kampfgeschwader 3 and 53 by Peter J. Smith

    much apreciated info thanks !!

Have you ever seen a forign lorry driver at a roundabout though? Where a UK trucker can look out of his window and see traffic, in a forieign lorry the area behind the right hand side window is a blind spot. So they just keep creaping and creaping out and hope people will let them go. If you don’t have clear visibliity, you shouldn’t be driving the vehicle.

Load of foreign (non-English) speaking drivers stop their lorries in the middle of a busy roundabout to ask UK truckers for directions. Yeah, like that’s safe! There are also loads of foreign truckers now driving UK registered trucks (where I worl there are 6 or 7) and some of them drive like nutters.

In certain other countries, if you can drive a tractor and trailer in a straight line forwards and backwards, you get a licence then just come to the Uk and cause chaos.
Forign truckers (until VERY recently) just jump red lights, speed etc knowing that the DVLA is exclusive to the UK and therefore by the time a ticket is produced they are back in their own country. It’s like a licence to make spped cameras flash with no punishment.

If foreign truckers can speak NO English, how can they read road warnings etc? In Grantham there are low bridges regularly hit by foreign truckers. The solution? I seems that the council think writing LOW BRIDGE in 6ft high yellow letters will stop it happening. NO it doesn’t, it wouldn’t matter if there was a 100ft neon sign cos if you can’t speak the language then you canlt read the sign!

now you are only sore cos they is pinchin us work init !!

if i am in a car and a truck has foreign plates and stickers in front of me
i do the only reasonable thing ” do not pass it ” especialy on a roundabout

if any tool does they are 50% to blame for the accident

maybe some of them should ask their guide dog one bark left two barks right high pitched yelp for stop !!

or maybe vauxhall may be kind enough to start fitting crystal balls !!

also new legislation and views on car accidents are moving away from ” it was thier fault !! ” if you get rear ended as in modern times it is happening all to often for it to be soley the one behinds fault !!

about 50% of rear enders can be soley placed with the front driver

( modern times have just made it a get out of jail free card for those that cause it then shout ” whiplash !!”

exactly the same as p**s poor british drivers blaming foreign truckers for the large amount of accidents here

i helped clear up after an accident involving a car and foreign truck here

the policeman was heard to mutter ” as usual a foreign driver will get the blame because an incompetent british driver is too dumb to reed a back end of a foreign truck that tells you to drive with extra caution

Having had my own problems with both HGV drivers and drivers of 3 ton trucks (which I understand are slightly different as HGV licence is not necessary) whilst riding a motorcycle and later when driving a car, my brother-in-law (an HGV driver with many years experience) one day related an incident to me.

    “.

wrong already !! new laws mean anyone passing thier car test after around 1998 has to take a seperate test for any type of hgv

even if you have a land rover towing a trailer commercialy , now even they are classed as h.g.v. and must be tacho fitted and opperated !!

only if you passed your car test before the new rules were you alowed to drive them on a car licence new rules only allow those that passed thier test before the new legislation to drive 7.5 tonners under grandpa regulations !!

So, if I understand the above example – car driver decides at last moment to turn into a petrol station – truck driver has to slam on his brakes to avoid a collision? (Assuming the truck driver was behind said lady…)

If that is the correct assumption then I’d have to say that the truck driver was travelling too close to the car in front (a habit they seem to loath to break*) to be able to slow down under full control of his vehicle, rather than having an ‘OMG-WTF-my-Yorkie’ moment, and having to pray his evading action succeeded.

*This is often witnessed at 56mph on motorways where you’d be hard pressed to slip a Rizla paper between the grille of one truck and the tail lift of the truck in front. It never fails to amaze me the ability of truck drivers to distort time and space by thinking they can actually stop in less than the length of a hatchback. Must be the air brakes….

the too close behind excuse is a mantra from car drivers and solicitors

( you are also partly responsible ) road laws state if you make any sudden manouvere or violent braking that causes any other road user to do the same

unless it is an emergency … you are breaking the law

mirror signal manouver !!! filling with petrol is not an emergency you carry on !!

however removing ” scannia badges from the back of your irresponsible skull is !!!

at wich poiint you can argue with st peter who was right !!

often trucks stick so close together to stop
” kn*b head car drivers slipping inbetween the dangerous space

remember more often than not a truck driver walks after hitting the rear of another truck

the numpty car driver that cannot wait for a couple of minuites and has to pass everything then squeeze between to get off or on at the sliproad
    is often body bagged
