The unit code for all KG53 aircraft was A1, and the code letter for I/KG53 would have been H as far as my research shows. So the aircraft in question would have been A1+?H, the third digit being specific to the aircraft.

Could you give some details of the incident you refer to, eg. date and location? With the wealth of the knowledge on here it may be possible to pin down an individual aircraft and/or crew.

it was the christmass eve raid 1944 on north west england the aircraft i would like is the one that the v1 doodlebug hit tottington villiage

another hit from the same raid was in oldham

it caused confusion at the time because they thaught they were over fueled ones that should have hit london

it was later found out because we had captured the launch sites they had started air launching the doodlebug !!

doubtfull for a spot on individual aircraft identity but within the group would be ideal !! terrific if a single aircraft is identified though

The link below leads to a build article of a 1:48 scale He111H-22, finished in the colours of II/KG53. As far as I’m aware, the colours on this aircraft would also have been applied to a I/KG53 aircraft.

    http://modelingmadness.com/reviews/axis/luft/bioll111.htm

thanks for that , they are the colours i suspected

how would the codes differ for 1/kg53 ??

    Prejudiced, by any chance……..??;)

nope just glaringly obvious facts !! a car only driver has had to sit one simple driving test !!

even an entry level H.G.V. driver has taken basic car instruction and passed the test then progressed onto the H.G.V training and passed a far more rigid test

by this fact alone it beggars belief how any soley car licence holder can say they are better

and it is this pompus attitude truckers face every day

the stand out classic to me that has always stuck out to demmonsrate this

( proving a little knowledge can be dangerous !! )

the person ( saying it was a woman would probably be sexist !! ) deciding at the last moment to sharply hit her brakes and indicate about two feet from the turning for the petrol station

what followed can only be described as the best driving i have seen as a fully loaded 17 ton rigid bodied tipper with wheels locked billowing smoke from the tyres and being directed through the only gap bareley large enough to get it through successfully avoiding other moving cars and parked vehicles

she then entered the ( empty !!) filling station parked on the wrong side of the pumps

and when i said ” hell fire you were lucky there !!” i was greeted with ” why what happened ?? “

when told her response was ” well he can stop they have good airbrakes !!! “

this and watching how bad most are in supermarket car parks if i select a spot carefully i can manage to get a 7 1/2 ton truck parked and get out again with ease !! then get held up by someone struggling to get a fiat punto into two spaces !!

and that’s before you start on the buffoons with un needed 4x4s’

the evidence is all around if you take time to observe

unfortunately the average car driver doesn’t

as my ten years on motorcycles proved by numerous drivers pulling out infront of me including one collision

from someone who was that eager to get away from work he didn’t spot a dayglo orange motorcycle with headlamp on full and rider wearing luminous yellow jacket with scothbrite trim !!

There are loads of lorry drivers in this country and the law of averages says that there wil be a certain amount who are not very good,

but even those are a 110% above most car only licence holders !!

all hell broke loose outside with its parents until i picked him up and dropped him out to fly over to his parents !!

the great tit differs from the blue tit in being a slightly larger bird with more black on the head !!

if you can still find it , try johnsons klear floor treatment worth a try as it is simply a matter of re coating as the new coat disolves the old one !!

should be tough and water proof as it is intended for kitchens

Does anyone have any info on the National underground fuel pipeline built in Britain during WW2 to get aviation fuel from the ports straight to the airfields? Where it ran from/To etc. I maybe wrong but I’m sure parts of it are still classified today. Seem to remember a Channel 4 documentary quizzing the MOD about a not so secret pipeline that was marked on maps.

i chat regularly to national grid heli pilots that survey things like that , oil pipes , gas pipes , electric lines etc

can ask next time they fly in if nothing is forthcomming

Hmmm. You might want to have a good long think about what you’ve just said.

    why??

in the context of fox hunting ( the discussed area ) it is 100 %

few like the reality of being shot is seldom instant death ( unless a spot on shot !! )

i make no appologies for the reality !!

and for what it is worth i have correct weapons training and armourer training

my brother also earned the rank of marksman in the army !!

and i say again firearms are only safe in correct establishments

and should not be available to the general public

they should only be available to police , millitary , correctly monitored pest control organisations etc

there is no place for firearms in civillian homes !!

I used to fox hunt in my youth, I have to say it is a cruel sport, they certainly don’t die instantly. šŸ™ It is a cruel sport.

certainly true , rareley any mamal has the fortune of dying instantly !! including humans

however the same day is good enough for me , as opposed to days or weeks from a p**s poor aleged marksman
