It’s probably escaped Aidan Burley and others who complained that Great Britain is in fact a multicultural country. It always has been and it is what makes us what we are. It is something to be proud of.
Thankfully we have moved away from 1948 where the Olympics and indeed the country were dominated by the white male middle class.

people speak as if it is a new thing !!

Very positive about the rest of the Olympics Arthur, but I thought the opening ceremony had a sickening lefty multicultural bias, even if it was extremely well done…

what ?? because it was done for todays britain and the people rather than the top elite and the belief we still have that great empire ??

there are a damn sight more everyday working people than hooray henrys in mansions

whilst yes he was instrumental in bringing the olympics it was whilst he was in office and helped his self important image !!

A damn good spectacle! I found the part where the deserving carried the Olympic flag into the stadium particularly emotional. Well done all!:)

well that was one huge suprise and those petals were such a fantasticly inspired idea that involved everybody rather than just one !!

Supporter or not, it simply boils down to this…..

We all have our dreams and aspirations, however great or small. What is about to take place in London over the next 16 days is the culmination of the hopes, dreams and aspiration of all those taking part. Good luck to them, they will achieve more by representing their countries than most of us will ever do.
