Ah, perhaps your Poles are only distantly realted to the five Polish families in my street who are so well off they don’t travel using public transport or taxi’s, their most common mode of transport being the Police vehicle. It was only about twelve months or so ago that an enterprising family of Poles found a quick and simple way to supplement their Sunday lunches by shooting swans.

    Regards,

    kev35

there’s good and bad in all , but the eastern european work ethic is superb

whilst working as an industrial door engineer we once came accross a ukranian lad he helped us with all manners of jobs so we could install the shops full new security shutter system from scratch

if we’d have asked a brit tradesman he would have told us to clear off

the ukranian did it without being asked as well as doing his own job

and i also cannot fault the polish girl i work with presently

sure there are some problems ( but not from all )

i’m not a large supporter of immigration as we have had it for the last few years

but it is no suprise they get jobs before the british , when you watch brittish work attitudes

the attitudes we have were ok back when britain was a rich country the fact is the world tide is changing

a fact borne out by companies starting to favour taking on chinese or mandarin speaking employees

britain is heading for the third world in a handcart whilst other nations considdered third world are now strong growing ecconomys

we can either adjust and be happy ( four years ago i had 3 cars now i have a little honda motorcycle ) i’m happier than i was with the cars

a friend put it very well to me a few months back

he said ” when we first met my wife and i didn’t have 2 pence to rub together , we strived to build ourselves up , to have nice cars , a nice house,in a nice area !! now we’re there we have discovered we are no happier , if anything we are a lot more unhappy and neurotic about the next thing to buy !!

Once again, you seem to be confusing “opinion” with “evidence”.

Simply saying something does not automatically make it so, no matter how many times you repeat it.

The remainder of your posting is an ill-considered and ignorant rant, so I do not propose to dignify it with further comment.

    Now, there’s a coincidence. 😀 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/13974542

the strike action cannot possibly avoid incidents like these ! very few parents of primary school children would leave their kids with just anyone !!

saying it is an ill considdered rant is mereley your way of saying i do not view your narrow minded views !!

the british are a nation that are dumb and are walking blinfold into everything through old outmoded beliefs that don’t fit in to todays world pecking order

i’ll give you an example of british attitudes

2 yrs ago a photography forum argued that nikons quality was not as good since production was shipped to thailand ( i find them to be very acceptable ) the following came up afterwards well we’ll accept them but woe betide it if they move production to china to save money ( the quality will just not be there ) so we can’t see it happening

yesterday i baught my first chinese made nikon ( and yes the quality is there !! )

the thing is you have to change , if not there are plenty of others behind you who will !!

You can provide evidence of these unfed children, naturally.

    Can’t you?

what you are not grasping is a lot of single mothers round these parts work for much less than 10,000 PA they are already on the breadline struggling to feed kids and keep them clothed

a forced day off to look after their kids is equivalent in wages to what they normaly spend on one weeks food shopping ( around £30.00 – £40.00 quid )

are the teachers going to pay for that weeks food ???

these parents will have to find it from somewhere !! it is all too often ecconomising on what is already spending a pittance on food !!

There are far too many employers and government bodies who ignore the impacts of their actions on either the general public or their employees .

there are a lot of single young parents that won’t be putting food in thier kids mouths because they lost money staying away from menial paid jobs to look after thier kids through this !!

“[U]The calculations show that a mid-ranking teacher on £32,000 a year will receive a final salary pension that is the equivalent of having built up a £500,000 pension pot.”

    .

as arthur said ” that was back when £ 500,000 was considered a lot of money !! “:D

:)anno kev , the frightening thing is the car accident one was only 5 yrs ago !!

naturaly i told them to commit a physicaly impossible act !!

around these parts throughout the 80’s and a lot of the 90’s

the most commonly heard work phrase was

” there’s plenty more on the dole behind you !! “

no but they must come to terms with the fact , and take a reality check !!

we are now in a world that advertises skilled trade jobs at minimum wage rates because there are enough people trying to find full time work !!

we are no longer a land of plenty

the answer is simple either accept what is happening or try finding a job out in the real world that pays the same

in these parts jobs over £15,000 are as scarce as bacon sandwiches at barmitzphas !!

and at the end of the day it is those people that are paying to keep you where you are

try working with , no pension , no sickness , ( i was once expected to be in work within an hour of a car accident i had in the morning )

try being on minimum wage with no raise for over ten years ( a lot of companies employ very skilled people who were in very high paid jobs because there is no other work out there )

it is true there is plenty work out there , providing you want to work for minimum wage , part time , sometimes both combined

or work for agencies that rareley keep anyone on

it’s not said anymore but the attitude is the same as the early 80’s ” if you don’t like the work conditions , there are plenty out there that will ! “

it has to be said when i was in the public sector i can honestly say i never had to work a hard day to draw a decent wage nor did i have to do many hours to aquire it

whereas in the private some of the worst ones i worked for ( lets put it this way as a fit young lad of 25 i struggled some nights to walk home ) and i was in the terretorials at the time and did a lot of hill walking

i’m educated for the job is no longer a valid argument there are very many educated for higher things and can’t find work

but a lot realise reality and are happily working alongside minimum wage employees that receive no perks or pensions because they realise that that is the real world !!
