I note that the graphic on that page just credits ‘Defense Department’ and contains no link to the actual data. It looks like they’ve just cribbed the numbers from previous reports regardless of context, and thus compare incomparable numbers in order to push their agenda.
For example the $45,986 per an hour for an AC-130U is a 2013 PROGRAM COST per flying hour number which divided the total annual program cost ( including all acquisition and upgrade costs ) by the total annual flying hours. That’s not relevant to actual flying over Syria in 2016; in fact if they flew MORE, the 2016 equivalent number would DECREASE!
In contrast the suspiciously-round $1000 per hour for the OV-10 looks like a guesstimate of the raw per-hour figure; a civilian Mu-2 with the same engines comes in around $690 per hour* fr fuel, maintenance and insurance. So it’s not a fair comparison with the figures given for other aircraft on the list unless they build-in the costs of reactivating the OV-10s, training crews, ferrying them to theatre etc.
Until I see raw DoD data I’m not convinced by fancy ‘infographics’.

The amount of money involved clearly says that the UK industry won’t sell its nuggets there (and anyway, the Turks are proud and capable enough to have dismiss such offer). They are providing insight, know-how and gain experience in the same time without any UK taxpayer resource. It’s sound more like a good deal given that the UK won’t field a fully nationally designed manned stealth aircraft in a foreseeable future

The Air Force’s bid request details over 10,000 discrete requirements. However, it includes none related to the program’s lifecycle cost or for operations and sustainment costs. Given how long this system will stay in the Air Force, life cycle efficiencies should be prioritized, and analysis and evaluation of life cycle costs for this multi-billion dollar program should be added as one of the evaluation criterion.
Boeing says that all upgrade are retrofitable. Hence it’s doable without risks.
Regarding the Kuwaiti deal, notice that they are the ones that bought first the Weapon pod (1). If testing cost there is, I am more on this than with the CFT, long test flown and offered to the US Navy.

The classic hornet was the first fighter to score a kill on a first ranked threat (an Iraki Mig 29) while carrying (on the contrary of jettisoning) a similar load as that of a 1944 B17 and successfully completing its mission.

the dihedral is also there to provide added yaw control (hence the minimalist vertical surfaces). You can see them clearly used that way in the last video of the J20.
