“Significant” Saudi military buildup along 1800km long porous border with Yemen
[…] government source described the size of the Saudi buildup on Yemen’s border as “significant” and said the Saudis could be preparing air strikes to defend [legitimate ousted president] Hadi

That low?
edit:
But you might be right. Searching for crash field under clouds cover. The 135 take a path along the mountain ridge (hence looking as if it flew from Nice for observer on the ground) and the fighter a more direct approach following the A320 trajectory.
The 135 might then have stayed airborne as a radio relay for the advanced frwd base for the rescue team the time proper comunication devices were brought in.
Ok it fits now.
two sherperd were watching the last second of the flight
“We were between 11 am and noon, at the foot of the mountain Tromas, when we saw an airliner that had just got around the mountain on the right. It was flying low, and its trajectory was curious. But we were at 1300 meters, with a large mountain that rises up to 2500 meters in front, we did not realize it was flying so low. And, its trajectory, we thought he was flying from Nice rather than Marseille.
At the same time, we saw a fighter plane that seemed to make a move to avoid it. From so far away, it was even as they would collide. It was certainly looking for him, and must have had already spot it. We often have military planes flying around for exercice. They make a lot of noise. Moreover, they frighten our cattel. So, we did not hear the explosion when the plane crashed, but we realized afterwards that they had probably been the last to see this airplane.
Tromas is 2 500 meters high and behind the Three Dioceses top off at 2900 meters. The the plane might have seek for a way out, a way out. But this is a dead-end. The aircraft then went crashing down the side of the neck Mariaud, probably on the cliffs of the massif of Three Dioceses. The fighter has certainly seen what happened. We realized after he had to be sent [on the scene]. “
According to them it seemed as if the plane was in a ctrld flight, flying low in the valley and a fighter jet (other sources stated a Mirage 2K) was monitoring or searching for it.
Notice that if the plane was diving they might have noticed this. they were surprised to see a commercial flight so low and it seems they have some experience spotting commercial flights in this place ( “its trajectory, we thought he was flying from Nice rather Marseille“).
Nice and Marseille being at a roughly 90deg apart in term of trajectory (see bellow).

Notice also that we shld found traces of Cellular signal if passenger were alive.

And others tiers
You fail to understand an elementary point Xman. It’s not like both Raf and 35 hve reduced RCS… It’s that they are world apart each vs one other.
The 35 is a stealthy plane. A good one in fact to seal the case (according to the USAF comparing it rather favorably vs the 22). The Raf is not. it has a some frontal RCS reduction feature. That’s it at best.
Frontal RCS reduction is for A2A only. You don’t dive straight from 400km toward a SAM battery (S400).
Have you alrdy forgotten the “Much more! [glowing eyes]”.
That was a pretty creditable source IMOHO 😀
And now… A hunger strike for Clarkson (Shld old Jeremy joins ?)
Mr Cameron […] revealed that daughter Nancy was threatening a hunger strike if family friend Jeremy Clarkson was taken off the TV – though Samantha [(Miss Cameron)] suggested the threat was not altogether serious.

Such as? If, like TR1, are referring to India’s supposed commitment to 2-seaters, I would remind people that —
3. India’s initial commitment to 2-seater FGFA has not only been retracted, but was likely driven as much by the desire to secure development work as for any operational or doctrinal reason — see Brazil and Gripen F.
It also helps India to have sufficient Manpower on an expensive type (the Su30/Both front and back seat are qualified pilots). Don’t forget that in those type of (still) low cost countries, Manpower equation is reversed. So it’s better to fly two than a single one.
As already stated this is a Rafale B. Secondly there is not biplace Rafale M, so I if he really flew one of those he flew solo, which I find quite unlikely.

It’s a very strange picture indeed.

A little bit of muscle to bent that nose and here it is… a MB
Does anyone have any details on whether any of the ‘clean sheet’ designs from NG, Boeing and the back-up from LM, are supersonic, and to what extent ?
Could an MB346 achieve supersonic ( M1.2 to M1.4 ) with variable shock intakes, variable area exhaust, and possibly afterburner ?
Haven’t gone through the requirements yet, is supersonic ability even in there ?
Never exceed speed is also M1.2 so no supercruise without probably a major redesign (structural and aero as you mentioned).
There is also a prob with the Max sustained Load Factor (15,000ft) that is 5.2g. KPP specify 6.5G min and 7.5 ideally. Notice also that M346 max load is only 8G.

(Extract from the T-X KPP)
So it seems that without any major rework, Aermacchi is disqualified .

Mil Mi 14 – Technical failure
The recent/ongoing action against ISIS/ISIL would have been unsustainable with an L-class boat with a relative handful of F-35B, and no wideband EA/EW capability or organic tanking. There is no way it could produce the operational tempo that the CVN can and does every day. This is an example of the types of actions that the US will find itself engaged in on a recurring basis – nothing smaller that an LHA/D could handle alone, except an odd one-off incident or two every 10 years.
Nobody says such. It just a substitute in certain tactical scenario. For example, there is no more need for a full CVN in Med in time of peace or Lybian type of operation (as it was explained earlier). It helps the USN to project it’s power where it is more needed at a tempo more compatible with peace time funding.
The LHD and DSO type of operation includes de facto a synergistic force projections (USN/USAF)

The 2015 Marine Aviation Plan Chap 2.3
All the purpose of the tech used here is to reduce the drag. So on paper, with simple math rules, you could have a supersonic cruise for such an aircraft… But that only If you pass the transonic regime first.
It’s just theorized work. But interesting will it be to read the thesis of this promising Jedi (if there was ever one 😉 )
…nice T-33!
Any chance to get a better view and/or pics this bird?
Sorry for the Off Topic.
