The point I was trying to make is to focus on reducing the cost. If it costs more to remove or develop, just leave it there. There are many things you can ignore and not worry about maintenance costs. For example, why buy anything related to LO treatments or maintenance. I would find it hard to believe the end result will cost anymore than any other aircraft by weight. In return, having sea born air power is huge for many navies that currently don’t have one, without the need to go multiple double digit kilotons. Say instead of buying an extra 6,000 ton destroyer, buy a squadron of these planes in my opinion you just went from a second rate navy to one that even capable ones like the USN needs to seriously keep track of. We’re not talking about the ability to go head to head but essentially a force multiplier for the same amount of cost, and very organic too.
Given the trend of compensation, this could be done in a country interested to buy the plane IMOHO. That will compensate for the extra cost). The difficulty I see is with the concerns of security.
But yes the B is tremendous force multiplier. It turns over a small aircraft carrier in a serious menace in most of the sea of the globe. Deterrence at sea for cheap
That means that countries that have rejected strong and expensive navies in the past and loose momentum in their foreign policy have now the opportunity to restart having a carrier task force and regain their heritage. This is of an utmost importance nowadays as you know.
