And as already said from 2021 rafales will be F4.2 compatible.
No.
The MoD and Dassault were clear on that point only weeks ago. If you think you have more updated infomation, please share.
Nope perfect timing :

And as soon as 2021 rafales will be delivered as “F4.2” meaning that while every component will not be ready, it will compatible to reach the full spec of the rafale F4 with the MFA in 2025. Those rafales will be prewired and with the right powersupply to accomodate those. So even if the Swiss wanted their rafales in just 2 years they could then reach the full F4 spec latter. But they want their new jet in 2025 so they could get the full package right out of the factory.
(See AFM on post above)
Other already in service rafales could be upgraded as rafale “F4.1 to avoid complex hardware upgrades…Same as other F4.2 but without the MFA I guess.
This is not what the Fr MoD and Dassault communicated in their recent time frame. I don’t know how dated is your source, but you might want to browse back the Rafale thread to see this. It has been commented in lenght.
2024/2025 won’t see any planned deliveries of fully F4 Rafale as requested by the Swiss. If the French canard win, I have no doubt that an agreement would be reached. But the RFQ is for deliveries BY 2025.

Still…. 2024/25 is too late for Switzerland (see my post)
Regarding the story with the 330MRTT and the Rafale, probably that Jane’s didn’t get a seat in the 330 and had to canoe back to England… before posting this (~two week old) story) 🙂
Unless a drastic augmentation of their production output, Rafale from Dassault won’t be available to the Swiss in the defined time frame (see my much earlier post).
Don’t throw me tomatoes. Post above is non-editable 🙂
The stated early blocks can be anything but Bees flying in operation. Same thing for the fleet wide availability rates. Notice that the numbers are understood to be well above 50%, something well above other platforms despite the challenge linked to USMC operations..
seems to be general. Page nbr buttons at the bottom of each pages don’t work either
Last but not least, an internally mounted sensor will be shielded from external perturbations far more efficiently than a podded one. That plays a big part in signal acquisition.
Also, if I do remember right, Qatar ordered US manufactured pods for their Rafale..
Nice one.!
There are plenty of thing that can change until any decision is made. Don’t forget that this is a dual request dedicated to build a complete set of air defense for Switzerland. In other words, Swiss are open to all the suggestion.
Scooping sea water?
It’s an old myth… Debunked and discussed here before.[/quote]
The Swiss air force operates from Alpnach Air Base, Dübendorf Air Base, Militärflugplatz Emmen, Meiringen air base, Locarno Airport, Payerne Air Base and Sion Airport.
Meiringen is the only airfield with fully operational cavernes. The caverne at Meiringen was extended and refurbished for about 120 million Swiss Francs to comply to the needs of the current Swiss airforce F/A-18 fighters. Because of the weight of these aircraft hanging them in overhead cranes would be enormously expensive so that was not considered a viable option. Instead an extra tunnel had to be built. The tunnels are connected by some linking tunnels and extra dispersals were added on the opposite walls of each tunnel making it possible to operate 22 F/A-18s. The aircraft are able to roll in and out at the same time without the need of moving parked aircraft. A linking tunnel constructed directly before the main blast doors makes it possible to refuel and rearm an aircraft immediately after its mission without opening the main blast doors. A very important issue when a unit is working under CBRN conditions. The Meiringen caverne ammo storage has an extra tunnel to the outside.
The former cavernes at Alpnach, Ambri, Raron and Turtmann have been deactivated and closed. The caverne at Buochs Airport has been mothballed but it is estimated that the facility could be reactivated to operate F-5’s within two months.
Tomorrow, SwAF will have 3 fully open options: Cavern, dispersals and STOVL
