I do understand the objectives behind his job but does not share the point of raising polemics via an obtuse style of writing. It’s the job of LM to add some PR in its com (I don’t believe so but I have to concede that this is modern days). Not G.’s.

Since I raised the case of impartiality, there is something in his report going the wrong way. Hence it’s improductive (even if it was unintentional) and should be discarded as so.

What I would have liked to see:
– prob ranked by critical levels (I, II and III for ex)
– Commonality of prob and solutions showed clearly (ex. Prob apply to 35A, B and C and solution valid for A and C)
– Stats pondered by time to solve a specific point.

That’s it. Nothing magical. Just plain old intellectual honesty.

Air Force Monthly made a good article at the time on the subject. I wonder if we could have a scan from them to end once for all the web polemics* ? (The pictures are alrdy all over the web)

Gilmore is the boss of the operational testing. He is paid well for being critical. Nothin partisan in there, with every complaint filed he is doing his taxpayers a big favor.

I did read the extract of the report with an open mind but was stunned by the way it is compiled. This is what I put forward: the structure, the empirical way of his statistical approach, the repetition hidden behind some sentences change.

Clearing a buffeting problem due to a rather new structural design is far more time/resource consuming than plugging back a dump valve. G. choose to put it side by side and count apples when LM technical teams have first to plant the tree, make it grown and then… But you’ve got it alrdy I guess.

You should look up rouge. It is not rogue. Note the spelling. The pronunciation is also different. The only phoneme they share is the first one.

I really, really, HATE the confusion of ‘rouge’ with ‘rogue’. There is no excuse for it. My wife’s native language isn’t even Indo-European, & she grew up in a country where only the native (totally unrelated to Indo-European languages) language has any status, & as she says, the teaching of foreign languages, even English, is extremely poor – but she’s never made that mistake.

See? I gave you very strong hints. I offered you the chance to take them, to think about what I’d said & check it, but you chose not to. But as has been said, “The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge.” You wouldn’t take the opportunity to privately check what you thought you knew: you were confident in your illusion, so I had to disillusion you publicly. I meant by rouge : imposter, one that assumes false identity or title for the purpose of deception. If someone is following international affairs can figure out in one second which countries I am referring to.

India and France have definitively a partition to play together in the future*. I am not sure that the conformism of our respective educational system have prepared us to do so but people are amazingly adaptable.
