Here is another flight I did last week, the QF067 service to Hong Kong from Perth, and the QF188 service back to Sydney
1. Approaching HKG, light fading fast

2. On departure the next day to Sydney

3. Flying abeam the old Kai Tak

4. Climbing to FL350

5. Still in the climb

6. Short finals to rwy 34L at Sydney

7. Time to slow down

8. Nice view of the spoilers & thrust reversers

9. At the Intl terminal next to a company 767

I thought this thread was about the 787 production? so how has it degenerated into a Boeing vs Airbus thread?
On topic please gents
Fantastic shots everyone, I haven’t posted any in a while so here are a few from moi
Did this flight last week. Shanghai – Sydney Kingsford Smith
1. Short finals to Rwy 16L Syd, note no flaps & landing gear due to the replay being too long, this was to be a missed approach.

2. About to cross the threshold, it was a nice uneventful flight up until 20ft above the ground.

3. On the go around, a stuck autothrottle was the cause, gear up, flaps 20,

4. 2nd attempt, fantastic view of the city and harbour out the left window for the passengers

5. 3.9DME to run, Vref of 137 held, 4deg nose up attitude, on the ILS and on manual.

6. Great view of the International terminal off to the right.

7. Crossing over the domestic terminal.

8. Over the threshold, a “tad” high.

9. Same shot, but a great view of the Sydney skyline in the distance

10. Touchdown, spoilers & reversers deployed

11. Allocated a stand in domestic whilst a Swiss A340 crosses the threshold of Rwy 16R, pax won’t be happy having to be bussed to Intl.

How many different ways do you want us to tell you about using apt thread titles?
Very sad indeed, but Lance I don’t think they kill it, they relocate it.
I’ve been to Australia a few times and have only ventured into the sea on the Sunshine Coast, and I went with the pretense that everything can kill you, that way you won’t touch anything you are not supposed to 😀

Don’t worry “too” much if you can’t fly for a while, whilst it’s good advice to keep on the horse it can work out ok if you can’t, it took me nearly 2 years to obtain my PPL, I did it at Bristol Intl where the weather is known to be pretty crap at times, there were times when I did not fly for 3 months for 1 reason or another, I think I had 2 or 3 of these blocks where I didn’t fly, but I found it ok, I didn’t really feel handicapped by it at all, a couple of times quite the opposite, but I guess it’s all down to the individual, you’ll find out what works best for you and you will adapt.
Keep us informed how it goes

yes but it is very very nominal, and not enough to cause the “bumps” that gnome was referring to 🙂
