18:37 DH dove or devon passing over alcester (warwickshire) in what looked to be a climbing turn to the west, very low cant have been more than 800 feet, now turned back to the east a mile away and making a further pass (crap weather to be doing a mini display in?)
was it Delta Victor from atlantique (not a that far from coventry)
signed 🙂
good that the crew is ok 🙂
in the bbc link above, i rather like the statement
“there is some damage to the aircraft…”
😀
god, isnt that a beautiful sight… seriously, she gives me goosebumps!
almost a year since her first flight now!
on the line of kawasaki’s ive got a ZX-7R powered gokart 😉
i didnt say she was preserved, was just wondering if her canopies are open all the time, at least she hasnt been roasted 🙂
think there may be some confusion with airframes at manston,
there are two phantoms
XV411 (who is rather singed :() http://www.demobbed.org.uk/images/xv411.jpg
And there is ZE360 http://www.demobbed.org.uk/images/ze360.jpg
who seems to be a little lucker in that she’s not been roasted, but are her canopies open all the time?
not to fly, i meant to save and restore, where XT852 is probably the worst off, i would have thought that the one at north luff could do with some TLC too (google earth shows her missing part of her wing 🙁 )
wholehartedly agree! 🙂
i think perhaps he was indicating a misunderstanding, in that the phantom that HAA are supposedly doing is in fact the buccaneer?
id never thought of it like that! surely its a possibility, but i doubt it 🙁
would it really need 7million pounds worth of work doing to it to get her back in the air?
was the huge hangar at brize there before the end of the vulcans?
if so, i wonder how long its been since the first photo that lincoln posted has been seen? (minus C17 :D)
!!! which aircraft is that?!
i was cruising through the demobbed site the other day looking at surviving phantoms

bit sad really 🙁
what about the one at north luff?
she looks to be in need of some love too…
