You can start with this accident at Tintagel.

And if you wanted to go as far as Dartmoor, this looks interesting!
the link for the tintagel crash, really does make for a fascinating read, the pilots report really is quite gripping, thanks for sharing that with us newforest 🙂
Maybe it was because they had booked the Vulcan, so it was a very short airshow:diablo:
Sits back and waits for the rocks to be thrown:eek:
*checks rock inventory*
Any preferance to the type of rock thrown? :diablo:
dont know if this has been mentioned before, but i found a vid of XL319 on youtube making her final flight
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQKL_5YVuVE
an impressive, but rather sad sight 🙂
😮 WOW just looked at scampton on google earth, i didnt realise how big it is! cool place 😀
i find it hard to believe that the CAA would impose restrictions like that, that sounds daft, even for them lol
😀 It was inspection day for 319 today. We removed as many access panels as we could on the underside, removed corrosion, primed and painted what we could. The majority of the panels will not budge thanks to 25 years or dissimilar metal corrosion, but we have managed to gain access to enough parts of the airframe to assess its condition internally, in addition to the areas TVOC inspected a few months ago. The A.A.P.P. is immaculate, but sadly will never run again.
We were visited by a former custodian of 319, Jim Rutland, who was rather upset at the sight of her looking as bad as she does. For those who don’t know, Jim is a former Vulcan electrician who is well known up north. He managed to source all of the rear crew station gear from Waddington after the RAF so kindly stripped 319 after she landed, and then proceeded to run her systems for several years until the A.A.P.P. went pop.
The golfing scum were taking potshots at the cars in the carpark today, and managed to hit Jim in the head with a well aimed golf ball. When he gets out of hospital, he will have a lovely scar…. 😡 😡 😡 Looks like Peter’s suggestion of golf range nets will be sought from the local council who own both our site and the field next door.
There will not be an update next Sunday due to the fact that we are trailing off to Derby for the BAPC meeting, however, until then, I’ll keep you informed…….:D
if the A.A.P.P why wont it run again? 🙂
awwwwwwwwwwww *reassuring hugs* :diablo:
in terms of fatigue life, what is the maximum looking at concerning a jag before major rebuilid? the two listed at everett
GR3a – 5,066 Hours
T4 – 5,877 Hours
obviously the GR3 has much lower hours, but how close is the end of their life fatigue life, or are they already there???

got my signiature
Canopus is not a true Comet, she is a Comrod. A Comet with with Nimrod undercarriage. So lack of spares and the fact she is a hybrid – no chance.
We need to plan ahead rather than look behind us though I would love to see a Lightning fly here in the UK. Best someone buys a Tornado/Jaguar/Harrier now, buys spares and paperwork and sit tight for a year or two. 🙂
in all fairness, i can never see the CAA allow a civillian operate a tornado because of the variable geometry, and i can see them lauging at a harrier proposition based on the fact that, well its a harrier! i would love a jaguar back in the air again 🙂 in all fairness, concerning the aircraft we have in the air at the moment, venom, vamire, meteor? hunter the majority of classic jets come from an era when the technology was fairly simple, and as a result nowadays, small consortiums can afford, to a point to own and operate one of them. i think of the operating costs that would be involved in maintaining a tornado. ie maintenance of the software involved in the fly by wire system (correct me if im wrong) then the VG wings, systems. the operating costs for a tornado would be enormous, wouldnt they? i think that for civillian parties to operate more and more modern aircraft, the amount of people with the prospect of actually being able to do so will get smaller as few will have the money and resource to be able to carry out one of these projects.
🙂
looks wicked, job well done methinks 🙂
isnt a shack spar basically the same as a lancaster spar  bae systems resparred PA474 theoretically it should be possible to respar a shackleton too?
thinking about jaguars, anyone know the going price for complete examples or minus engines from everett aero, i know there is a stripped one for £7,500. same goes for their sea harriers. anyone know???
hey LL wouldnt a victor be possible if there were fairly large resources available? and there is always the B.1 at DX if she could be procured 🙂 well wishing really, i know 🙂 i have to say, i really would love to see some more classic helicopters flying again. ie some gnome whilwinds, wessex’s. definitely a couple more canberra’s (if possible) a mosquito would be amazing, what would the cost be to ressurrect a halifax?
just a couple more ideas
🙂
the americans have a FRS1 flying dont they? or fairly near to flight anyway. good idea, i think that the CAA however would pall at the idea of a civillian operating a harrier 🙁
