seriously lets not bring this monumental achievement down by pointless biccering! the doubters have been proven wrong and the believers have seen their dream come true. the doubters will all know the feeling of being wrong. my uncle is one of the higher up in rolls royce engines, and he was adamant that she would never fly. he’s been made to eat his words. shall we leave it at that and all look forward to what could well be the best airshow display season in many years 🙂
watched a clip of the first flight thing on youtube, broadcast by the bbc saying that they hope to operate her out of duxford??? this sounds fairly daft to me, dont know about anyone else. can anyone shed light on this?
To one of our disused Royal Navy Vessels they haven’t got around to scrapping yet. Stripped of everything useful and moored too far from land for the toe rags to swim ashore. I wouldn’t honour them with supplies either, they’d have to make the best of it for as long as they survived.
i rather like that idea :diablo:
seriously guys, it was a bit of a joke, sorry if it annoyed you all.
thanks for informing me of that, it seems obvious now that its IWM. however there do seem to be a few fairly complex aircraft flying in this country now 😀
im surprised there have been no
“jesus bruce, just seen this massive triangle shaped monster flyin’ about!!!!!!!!!!!!”
posted yet 😀 😀 😀
😮 😮 😮 😮 we could have had our very own airworthy B29, why was it just stuck in a museum??? they flew it all the way over the atlantic didnt they???
got to be the best way to be deafened ever. he was lucky to be stood almost at the point of rotation!

😮 😮 😮 WOW i actually had no idea sorry about that 😮
are you sure about that? just wondering why nasa would have the russian version of concorde
… will the Vulcan still be flying in 33years time? I doubt it…
Bomberboy
fair enough, but you really can’t compare a vulcan in terms of operating costs to a B17 there is a fairly large difference between the two 🙂
concorde would cost a colossal amount of money to get back in the air again. and the co operation of the owners of all the surviving examples. in reality it would have to be a french one. and im pretty sure that its been mentioned that they are about as keen to give one over to a restoration to flight as then english. but i could be wrong. wouldn’t it take something more in the region of 20 million as opposed to 6?
if we are talking about what next, i really think the recently retired jaguars would be ideal candidates 🙂 i wish i had the money to buy one lol
*shivers*
im not kidding, that noise, the howl as her engines spool up, send shivers up my spine and give me goosbumps!
If it would make a difference, I can drive up from Plymouth with a bucket of water in the boot??
Trying to get those ******s who swore they’d give me a million dollars if it flew again is proving to be problematic, though. Suddenly, I can’t find a single one, and some have even had the audacity to go and die on me 😮
It’s just spite – I’m now an unrequited multi-millionaire! 🙁 😡
😀 😀 😀
if you live in plymouth, can i bring a bucket of water and perhaps bum a lift? i live basically on north hill near drake circus 😀
