Rich is that boost measured in PSI?
Now that’s scary! In some ways it doesn’t seem like two minutes ago 😮 still a fondly remembered day 🙂
I know mate – Shortly after it all turned a bit **** Lets hope people have changed
I think the missfire was down to 4 of the 6 port bank of exhaust plugs being US
He cant help it in all fairness

A bit into the scrapping of aircraft mate? No one here likes seeing them cut up 🙁
You’re either a politician or a sado masochistic enthusiast :diablo:
Not after calling her a glorified wind farm you won’t….
I believe its all in hand Peter 🙂
We have all the AP’s for it etc, I think the worry is what will happen if its done even slightly wrong….
From what Rich has told me, Pete Grieve will be coming to help at somepoint 🙂
As above – Will be almost certainly an R1
Im sorry but I couldnt resist 😀

Not entirely sure – However the link speaks for itself
The small amount of O2 at the Operational hight of a scramjet would pall in comparison to the compression of the engine when scooping it up at mach 10 :diablo:

NASA flew a third version of the X-43A on November 16, 2004, achieving/maintaining a speed of Mach 9.68[2] at about 34,000 metres (112,000 ft) altitude [3] and further testing the ability of the vehicle to withstand the heat loads involved.[4]
This would be the one 🙂

AFAIK there were a number of interesting prototype air breathing engines in test at the moment.
I believe the scramjet holds the world record for airbreathing flight at mach 10+
