Nashio can hire them the Shack too…:diablo:
Yeah it’ll cost them about £10 million 😀
(considerably less than the MRA4 will end up costing :diablo: )
Pagan I know what you mean mate 🙂 It is on the list of things to be done, just not very high up at the moment! at very least we need to source a starboard bomb bay door to start with.
I appreciate my post my have been a bit grumpy 😀 Its been a cold old day!
All the best 🙂
Ben
I’m sure you’ll get a more definitive answer from Ben (Nashio), but I think at the moment he’s probably up to his armpits working on 963, while I’m stuck in my office at work wishing I was there too.
Yeah! ive been chaing a rocker cover gasket in which can be described as BITTERLY cold conditions. cured one problem to find yet another 🙁 we now need to do a camshaft swap on the left bank of engine 3 (havnet looked at the right bank)
With regards to the MR2/AEW.2 mix she is at the moment, what can we do? we have one long bomb door (not two) monumental job to swap them anyway.
Swapping the dome would be a pointless exercise since the dome wouldnt ever be extended unless we jacked the tail up (why would we do that)
Internally ‘963 Is complete, no equipment missing though obviously the radar desks and scopes are redundant since we no longer have the Radar fitted!
When it comes to it, there are far more pressing things in terms of preservation and maintenance to be done, that to satisfy the need for a “pure” aircraft. No offence Pagan but there are! The horrendous wear on the camshaft that we found today just illustrates a need for a regular engine run and maintenance plan, we are hopefully going to fit oil priming pumps to all engines but that is yet another great long thing to add to the list!
* Repaint
* Stop Corrosion
* Finish Engine Swap
* Build Props
* Service Flying Controls
* Camshaft Checks On 3 Engines
* Servicing Brakes
* Mainwheel Change
* Recharge Main UC Legs
* Sort Faulty Wiring
* New Generators For 2 Engines
* Change All Zeuss Fastenings That Need it (8 Of Every 10 Need Changing)
* Lubricate Everything
* Cockpit Glass
The list is absolutely endless and excludes regular maintenance that needs to be done!
Not only that, we have to catalogue all of our spares ready for the move from the barn to containers that we will be buying to have at the airfield
Long project ahead, and im sorry to say it but fitting longer bomb bay doors and the Dustbin at the back are very very low down on our list of priorities!
Cheers
Ben

being told that I am indeed an estranged and future ex husband and our kids (who I am told need a solid family base) are going to be pulled from their home (one of them has only ever known that house) because she still doesn’t know what she wants.
*hugs* man
this smiley made me laugh today though 🙂 might make you laugh

Cancelled alongside the TSR.2, P.1121 and the two large Royal Navy aircraft carriers
The first prototype of the P.1154 was something like 80% complete

Sent you a PM matey
PPrune says that One is going to carslile and rumours of one as peter mentioned to cosford via shawbury
so that makes
1) Manchester
2) Newark (possible)
3) Brunty
4) Elvington
5) Carlisle
6) Cosford (Maybe)
Whilst I agree the cost of carefully dismantling, transport to another location and re assemblely is huge, I see nothing in the Vulcantothesky thread that shows that XM603 has been terminally damaged or weakened. I do not pretent to know how or where the construction / transport joints are for a Vulcan, but even the nose, cockpit, bomb bay and center section out to undercarriage would make an impressive exhibit within the Manchester Museum ? With suitable explanation as to why the airframe exists at all.

Click on the pictures down to the left, should give you a good idea 🙂
TO makes a good point, but putting Hendon aside, could your boss have been referring to the fact that a Nimrod can’t be air delivered to the other sites, and that this has been misinterpreted?
Definitely not, the person he was talking to should know what is going where …
The boss told me that the neither DX Cosford or Hendon were getting one, I trust implicitly where he got his information from
