I fondly remember the sheer pleasure of walking around Hendon one night, entirely on my own… you could hear a pin drop… bliss!:D

They got that fedup of you inspecting the diameter of the rivets on the underside of the beaufighter they locked you in???

    ANYWAY

Any updates on possible nimrod allocations?

From my experience, the Vintage les paul replicas are excellent, especially the newer ones with wilkinson hardware, you get a lot for your money, The ESP LTD replicas are pretty good too, but you have to spend more to get a good one! Nothing much wrong with a high end Epiphone either?

I had a “Vintage” les paul for 3 years, never once let me down/sounded rubbish
    🙂

Id also take him to have a play with one to feel what the Neck is like, as i always found the neck on mine to be too chunky for my small hands, I now have a Jackson DK2 which has a neck about as thick as a credit card :diablo:

    Just my ten penneth

    Cheers

oh right? Im sure the boss told me that Neither cosford nor duxford were having nimrods?

Seeing as the runway at cosford is supposedly too short, which would facilitate the need to fly the aircraft into shawbury and then road it to cosford? how long is the runway at dx? surely if they can get a B52 into DX then they can get a Nimrod in? Duxfords runway is almost 5000 feet where cosfords on is 3800 feet (ish) whats the minimum landing distance for a nimrod? lol

I’d assume Cosford, Duxford or Hendon will be having one.

    no no and no

Bit of a joke really 🙁

I hope newark gets the R1 they’re after!

What (if any) demilitarising steps will be taken on these aircraft?

I assume they will be made so they cant carry weapons?

    Wow!

Some excellent points there Mike. Nothing serious would be undertaken without a damn good look into what we need and what we have, ive been going through things for a month or so and only now is it really beginning to dawn on me what a monumental undertaking it will take to get 963 back where she belongs!

To some, it would be daunting and frightening, I find it different in that it pushes me into wanting to make it happen even more.

Any help you could provide would be most welcome!

    All the best

    Ben

I used to spot these when they flew high over my hometown, with binoculars it was possible to make out the big weapon. In the same way i could indentify the Vulcan used for testing the Olympus engine. I seem to recall that was XA603.

    XA903 😉

The nose of which is still in one piece at wellesbourne mountford aerodrome 🙂
