Indeed Malcolm , didn’t help that I was distracted by a phone call and so didn’t send my post for twenty minutes or so, you all move so quickly on here!
I am minded to say that I’m always annoyed by this debate, since “we” as a society seem to retrospectively agonise about the RAF heavy bomber campaign and Trumans’ decision to drop the “big one” twice. Personally I have no such reservations. Total war means just that. and it seems absurd given the barbarity of the Nazi’s and Imperial Japan and their objectives of global tyrannical rule that people should question allied efforts to bring down such evil with every means at their disposal at the time.

But given the disproportionate losses suffered by Bomber Command at the hands of those Ju88s you are not seriously suggesting that throwing away RAF Bomber Command crew lives just to attract Ju88s was a serious strategic decision to curb the menace of the Ju88. A few well planned raids on the factories would have achieved that.
I suspect Moggy is referring to the 88mm anti-aircraft gun/Flugzeugabwhrkanone Rather than the Ju88 aircraft. Though I may be wrong.

Dear Mr Yagen, just once down the course of the old main runway at Hunsdon…please?

Flat out 360kts 50ft of the deck straight down the centre line, wouldn’t that be nice eh?
If it’s raining, rearly bucketting down, will the ground runs still happen?
You better belive it!!!!!!!! What ever the weather!

One week to go! lets hope the weather is better next week!
Was the ECM pod at the top of the vertical stabiliser different on the B variant?

Not a bad effort for the telly, though as always a little too tin triangle centric. The internal Victor footage was shot down at Brunty in the cockpit of XM715 with Bob Tuxford sat in the right handers seat playing his own co-pilot so he told me.

We should ban all Frey Bentos products, except maybe the Steak and Kidney Puds.
Save for the fact that Fray Bentos is in Uruguay not Argentina:D
And for those of you who like to see/hear your museum exhibits living and breathing there’s Bruntingthorpe!
