Wrong…See the MKI about that.

Agreed, the above calculation is oversimplistic :o. However, I’d expect the Su-35’s OEW to be less than the Su-30MKI’s 17.7t, coupled with 13% greater engine thrust than the MKI’s AL-31FP. It’s no slouch.

Re: Su-35BM weight
MTOW= 34,500kg; Max internal fuel load= 11,500kg; Max warload= 8,000kg.
34,500kg minus 19,500kg [11,500kg + 8,000kg],
Hence, Empty weight (airframe + engines) = 15,000kg (15T).
The intense smog caused by the peat fires has most probably interrupted the flight-test programme. This was the visibility @ Zhukovskii the other day:

IAF ‘Phalcon’ @ Rostov-on-Don, RF, yesterday:

Those ungrateful Israelis, with their extortionately priced- yet free F-35s! 😀
New air-to-air missile seeker head developed by ‘AGAT’. Dual-mode, active (inner antenna) & passive (7 outer antennas).
Claimed passive detection range of ~200km for passive mode and 15-20km in active for 3m^2 target:

Maybe EADS et al think that with VLO UCAVS around the corner where does that leave the F-35? Prohibitively expensive 5G fighters have priced the 4G+(+) fighters back into the market, and a mix of the 2 is the way to go.
If UCAVs have already superceded the F-35, selling it’s A2A capabilities is an uphill struggle for LM- that’s where the 4G producers scent blood ‘Will the F-35 really be the high-end of your AF’s A2A capabilities compared to Typhoon/Rafale/Gripen NG/Su-35S’?. Why’s Boeing sticking the knife in with F-15SE and Hornet mods?……and we won’t even get into PAK-FA vs F-35 A2A.
There is already talk about appeasing the Russians by ordering 50-60 MIG 35s outside the deal as well.
I don’t think so. The Russians have long since written-off the MMRCA tender, they’re happy with the additional 42 Su-30MKIs and will be kept busy with the ‘Super-30’ upgrade. There is an outside chance of a token Su-35 purchase- but that’s not within the remit of MMRCA (Libya being the export launch customer).
Besides, the RuAF doesn’t want to be forced to buy the MiG-35.
Regarding ‘appeasement’, Pogosyan wants the Indian Govt/MoD to abandon the 2-seater FGFA/PAK-FA, sign a de facto license production/ToT agreement and stump-up the ca$h asap. That way the T-50 can enter series production quicker (barring any nasty surprises in the flight-test programme).
Being the shrewdest operator in the business, he’ll most likely get his way!

With a little help from these guys ;)…also ‘Grach‘ meets ‘Stinger‘

I wonder if this set is destined for the IAF’s ‘Super-30’ upgrade- it’s being/will be tested aboard a company Su-30 instead of a converted Tu-134, and it would give Tikhomirov-NIIP significant ec. of scale. Besides, a passive array upgrade for the MKI doesn’t really make sense. (:diablo:).
«Юрий Долгорукий» prepares to be Bulava’d:

Yip,

I don’t believe my eyes!!!

Photoshoping a 117S comp.face onto it would make it more ‘believable’.
If they pay such attention to detail such as the cannon muzzle cover, you can bet they’ve got an effective & integrated comp-face/engine solution.

If that is the c-face, still less is visible than on the YF-23- hence shows a more efficient use of space. The biggest stumbling block of the PAK-FA programme is the new engine. The Russophobic anti-PAK-FA brigade (all 4 of them) can enjoy their fleeting moment of schoolyard glee…they’re due it, after their crushingly rude awakening.
I still don’t believe it’s the comp-face:
