So Pilots and PC Virtual Pilots that are interested, PM me, and I’ll give you my MSN Messenger ID – we can then get a conference chat together and working out some of the details.

Darren, the exhibition thing is certainly something I have in the back of my mind for the future, but lets see if some fun can be had first of all.

Hey, just a thought, those of us that couldn’t make a venue, but could find the time to fly wouldn’t even need to be there, what with the power of the Internet & all.

    Lots of things to consider:

Team Name – something to do with male sheep would be nice 😀 but not compulsory!
    Platform (FS/IL2FB/CFS, etc)
    Aircraft
Virtual Venue (Server IP, that kind of thing)
    Maneouvers
    Team Leader & other positions
    Team size

and everything else I’ve forgotten or don’t know about.

IL2-FB is a good choice, I have that too, and would be prepared to get the expansion pack.

I guess the answer to that lies in the power of your PC. FS2004 is quite processor, memory and video demanding, so a modern PC is a must really.

Can’t see a reason to turn that date down. Saturday 13th March is fine by me.

Sorry, things seem to have gotten a bit disjointed. Cosford where & when?

Is the Coventry Air Atlantique visit on day 2 still on?

    Have I missed the boat?

    the rotting Lightning XN728

I think it is time to finally admit that there is never going to be any hope for this poor thing. Time to bury her, isn’t it.

Is the final pic on P2 of a Typhoon, or maybe Rafael?

Superb a/c – here’s the view in the other direction.

Referring to the Mars pics – looking through the windscreen, it looks like she’s flying – if so, who has control????????

I know she’s a big kite, but there must be a valley at the end of the lake!!!!

Saw (& ahem heard you) display in Plymouth Sound a couple of years ago Carolyn – wonderful, but sadly not had the opportunity since.

Great TV show – thanks to you and all your team, and thanks for letting us know you read this forum too.

I have made it my mission in life not to ruin a perfectly good photo by including myself. However, my brother decided he wasn’t bound by this restriction and recently took this one.

    Sir

The use of ‘sir’ is very different to service personnel as any of the ex-services people on here will tell you. Let’s just say its meaning can become somewhat reversed on the ‘respect’ side

Q8103449 SAC Anthony, RP reporting – Sir.

I think what you’re referring to is tone and inflection, Damien – not honest, genuine, use of the word.

In print, I agree, it can often look disingenuous – but face to face, most will know when it is being used sarcastically.

Anyway, this is a topic not worthy of further discussion in this thread imho.

The 50 shaped formation was at REF Finningley Royal Display (50th Anniv of the RAF) and was JPs.

Sadly, I don’t have that. What I have is an 80 shaped formation, which I now believe are Tucanos.

humm – unlikely, I’ve never been to Abingdon.

I should look at these things before posting!!

It’s an 80 shaped formation, of 21 propeller driven aircraft – that look like they might be Spitfires – or possibly Tucano’s – they’re too small for me to distinguish! Probably taken in the mid ’90’s.

Mass Hunter formation at Kemble a few years ago, followed by a mass Hunter beat-up of the field.

Not much better – but: –

The 1973 Finningley airshow will always be memorable for me – a 4 ship Vulcan scramble, actually being part of the crew looking after a Lightening at the same show, then seeing it display (after some delay, as it went ballistic shortly after takeoff – it took a lot longer to come down, then it did to go up). Finally the end of the show, a Red Arrows Gnat bomb burst, where one of them came very low between the hangers.

However, I also remember being at an RAF 50th anniversary show, and have a print of a 50 shaped formation. Can’t remember where or when it was though. Anyone know?
