Lovely work, Snapper – I use PaintShop Pro 7, can the same results be achieved with that?

The airplane which appears here is all Plamodels, as for reduced scale 1/72? 1/48, with span 20? They are about 50 cm, with please enjoy Plamodel which appears as a scene photograph. When the photograph is clicked, you can view with the big picture.

I was actually posted at Lossiemouth from 1974 to 1978 – so we might have met.

    I worked in Operations/Comcen.

Did you get to fly the Jag Sim?

    Gliding at Tern Hill

Comeing from Wednesfield, did that too.

Flying at Shawbury though – not Cosford. Don’t know why, but didn’t get to visit Cosford until after I’d joined up.

    bed packs?

Grrrrr. Yes I remember them 🙁

And of course, Swinderby was compulsory for erks like me.

7 places for section of 70+

Thats not just sad, that’s criminal – back in the 60’s our whole squadron would attend camps such as Marham, Chivenor & Coltishall for at least a week.

    Fabulous times, I’ll never forget.

We flew, we shot, we visited sections for whole days sometimes, we ate in the mess (terrible powdered orange squash), we had lectures and talks, mid-summer night exercises.

And you got you b****s blacked (with shoe polish) if you didn’t wash, or were otherwise a nuisance (err don’t recall that ever happening to me though 😉 ). All very character forming stuff.

That has got to be an optical illusion – two planes side by side, both with cropped wings?

How do you get a picture under your name?

Click on “Historic Aviation” or “Key Publishing Ltd Forums” (just above the messages).

You’ll then see a new menu displayed in roughly the same area.

Click on User Menu (new page displayed)
Click on Edit Options (another new page is displayed)

Scroll to the bottom, and click on “Change Avatar” (there are no default ones on this forum, you have to upload your own – just follow the prompts).

First the Corsair in question was a STRIKE which means the US Navy gave up all rights to it

    [pedantic]
Is there somewhere online we can see a clear, independent, definition of the term STRIKE?[/pedantic]

A simple firewall, such as Zonealarm, will prevent any program from accessing the Internet, providing you don’t give the firewall permission to allow it.

Zonealarm is 100% exclusive – it won’t let anything access the Internet without your say so (of course, there are a couple of defaults – it allows Internet Explorer, for instance – but even that can be denied).

Of course, businesses with, or wanting, networks can use products such as BorderManager from Novell (checkout RAMMS image link). Some SMEs even qualify for a free copy as part of SBS6.5.

My records show I took the photo of XS936 on 29th September 2003.

And yes, Castle do take excellent care of all their aircraft (I’m assuming Castle Air (next door) & Castle Motors have a common link).
