Count me in guys all being well. Coming from Donaghadee, I can also pick up pax from BHD if required, as I’ll be passing the front door anyway.
Looking forward to putting faces to names perhaps 😮
Be aware – the Tall Ships race is leaving Newcastle on 28th July and around 1 million people are expected along the Tyne to watch (my family included). Don’t know enough about the approach or departure paths at NCL, but the potential is there for some awesome views out of the aircraft if you’re lucky. 🙂
Whilst staying at a local caravan site on hols in Hawarden last year, I called to the security gate at the main entrance and asked politely about movements. The guy in the booth kindly gave me the frequencies (which I already had anyway) for my scanner, and the next scheduled arrivals and departures of the Belugas. Going to the crash gates at the end of the runway allowed some awesome video (particularly when the Beluga was powering up to take off again – the whole gate shook with the jet efflux, and the camcorder shook like mad while shooting through the gate). Just don’t park in front of the gate – local plod WILL move you on. Good range of movements on most days including Global Express, most biz jet types and the odd larger jet too e.g. BBJs.
Welcome back Sandy – good to see the brain didn’t stop functioning while you were away.

Excellent news Shamrock – if you get some comms training, make sure you keep us posted on the freqs used so that we can listen to you at work while sitting alongside 28 spotting 😉 😉 😉

Allen,
Just loved that, but what the hell was it all about? No doubt from some ad or other. Superb ending though …… 🙂

Literally bumped into Yehudi Menuin in Covent Garden, had photo taken with my boxing hero Sugar Ray Leonard at Westminster Abbey, met Bo and John Derek outside the Peninsula Hotel in Kong Kong, Queen Mum at St Paul’s Cathedral, but for me, best of all was a quick conversation with Frank Sinatra outside the Albert Hall (followed by Sammy Davis Jnr and Liza Minelli). Unfortunately I never saw Sinatra sing in Las Vegas, but I did see him singing in Dublin a week after meeting him. Ah, bliss ……… 🙂
I saw it fly over me while feeding the ducks
Must say I’ve never seen a 757 feeding ducks before …….. 😀
I’ll get my coat ……

Nice to know it’s doing the rounds, but without wanting to rake up old tribal problems this side of the Irish Sea, does anyone know if it’s coming to Belfast at all? There are no BA services to BFS anymore, BHD only has a BA MAN service it could possibly operate on (though I’m not sure about a 757 getting in/out of BHD with any kind of payload), yet I’m sure the BBC would want to see it coming to the kiddie viewers in Northern Ireland.
Anyone got any positive (i.e. confirmed) info on whether we’ll see it here or not?
