What is your source for this? The news agencies are not reporting anything today on this (a trawl of over 11000 news sources in the last five minutes has revealed no mention of any suspension).
Wouldn’t be the 2-11 or 3-11 derivative of the 1-11 would it? Can’t recall accurately that far back anymore, I’m afraid 8-(
Getting married is no commercial reason for offering a free upgrade. If something more than Economy is what you want, pay for it like everyone else – it is meant to be the only time you’ll be going on honeymoon after all.
I have no doubt that MO’L has no intentions of showing porn on his flights, but it’s a typical signoff line from him, designed to provoke discussion and response (outrage?) from the public, thereby keeping the name of Ryanair firmly in the front of everybody’s mind. Pretty much like we’ve been sucked in to doing just now ……..
The man may have no scruples, little concern for his passengers and a complete disregard for ‘normal’ business practice, but you simply can’t deny he knows how to publicise his company in a way no one else can even come close to emulating. Whether you think that’s good or not is exactly why we’ve got forii like this where we can debate the matter ad nauseam.
The idea appears to be not to prohibit hold baggage, but to dissuade people from bringing it by charging up to £50 per bag going into the hold !! Source : Guardian Online – http://money.guardian.co.uk/businessnews/story/0,1265,-1257378,00.html
I think Sky news last night said this had been done on 4 aircraft, though I don’t yet know which ones.
Tell me Cap – why do those guys at the factory never manage to get all the putty off these windows after they fit them?
I know the problem – you’ve just got a wooden heart!
I wouldn’t doubt that there were 110 charters. Pity they were all a waste of time, he he he!!
Back on topic again …….
Thought last night’s programme was excellent. What a difference between those QANTAS/ground agents and the Grizeldas and woodentops to be seen on easysoap at Luton and Liverpool. These guys actually wanted to help sort out the passengers’ problems !!!! A few lessons to be learned there I think.
Looking forward to tonights episode, with John Travolta’s 707 featuring. For those who haven’t seen John’s home at Oscala in Florida, where he parks his 707 in his driveway (yes, honestly) please click here -> http://www.rummaging.org/2004/03/travoltas_jumbo.html
Regretfully I’ll not be there myself – the trip was only for the US visitors. His family were from somewhere around Edinburgh many many generations ago. We had them booked into our fave B&B on the Queensferry Road and all. Still, maybe they’ll make it later during the summer, and who knows – the good lady and I may even join them. We were at Ingliston just before Easter (staying at the Caravan Club site for a week beside Lauriston Farm), but as I didn’t have the laptop with me I wasn’t able to contact anyone at the time for a meet. Sorry.
Cheers and happy spotting. 🙂
Best viewing airport : Manchester, Dublin
Best viewing terminal : Bangkok, Miami ‘A’
Best terminal facilities : Dubai – immaculate toilet facilities (gold taps etc), fantastic duty free, world class shopping, the whole thing just oozes opulence
Most improved airport facilities : Belfast City, London City
Worst airport : Bahrain – dirty, smelly, overcrowded, with a sense of middle east tension
Worst terminal : Heathrow T3 – permanently under construction and always overcrowded
The easyJet spokesman was saying in the local media that more new routes from BFS were definitely on the cards, and he named Barcelona and Rome specifically as the sort of destinations people would enjoy getting to for short breaks. Looks good if it turns out to be true.
Got mine in WH Smiths in Belfast last week (Thur or Fri)
Who would operate a flight to New York frm Belfast.
Looks likely that CO are interested. They had a party visit BFS last week to suss the place out before committing to anything. A 757 service would on paper appear to be the most likely starter.
