The EI-DAN shot is a really great photo. Also nice to see the CSA birthday plane. I have still not made a good photo of it. Everytime I see it, it ends up landing on/taking of from another runway. Must have missed it that way at least 4 times now. That plane must be jinxed or something.
I find the evning light is some of the best to take photos in, and gives a lot more interest in the colours.
Couldn´t agree more! And you should not move when it gets a bit darker. If you wait for a bit longer the sunset kicks in, and that´s when the real stunning shots get made! Last weekend I made my first attempt at a sunset shot, and it immediately ended up as a screeners choice at JP. Got another sunset in the queue lined up to become my 500th photo at JP.
Anyone worried that the star alliance is growing too fast? I think so anyway!
Growth is all nice and well, but you have to have an organisation capable of growth, and in the case of the star alliance growth on a massive scale. The thing is, many companies in many industries have grown very fast in the past. And a good deal of them could not cope with the demands. The solution for many of those companies was to hire more and more personnel, which in the end inflated costs too high.
I think that the Star Alliance should consolidate what they have and then move further. Heck, their North American partners are in a dire financial position. USAirways looks very threatening. UA seems to be pulling through but is still in a lot of problems. Air Canada is not going particularly nicely either.
How come their backlog is this large? 5026 ordered with “only” 3630 delivered. Does the 5036 include options that have not been taken up yet?
Nice photos!
When where you here, must have been a while back? Reason I ask is because of the Air Holland 767. As far as I know all Air Holland 767s are now in a hybrid ThingyEXEL livery. Also the Skynet 737 behind it is interesting as they went bankrupt a few weeks back.
nope, no weapons of mass destruction here either
I know nothing about flight training so don’t just take my word for it, but this sounds like a great deal. Maybe you could ask this question at PPRuNe as there are loads of professional pilots there.
I remember the IL62 flight as well, but you are just a tad late as it has already been done a few weeks back. The B747SP mentioned bij Ren Frew was this weekend so you’re too late as well for that one.
The company organising these flighs are “Airevents”. They do these flights every year and from what I hear they are really good. Have not had the pleasure of trying them out but will certainly be doing that as soon as finances and time permit. Might be a while though 🙁
Saw a Macedonian Airlines (IATA) ticket earlier today from my housemate. A standard ticket with the passenger and route details written on it. So yes, these tickets still exist.
Luton is quite nice to go spotting. From the terminal you must walk down the main road away from the main terminal. There you will find the taxiway crossing the road over a bridge. You can walk on the embankment and get almost on the same height as the planes. Hence nice full frame side-on shots.
Luton is not the busiest of airports though. Easyjet moslty and some other airlines with a handful of flights. And of course a never ending stream of biz-jets of various sizes. Largest I saw there when I was there (looong ago) was a BBJ. Must have been 1,5 years ago now.
They are taking this Welsh stuff quite seriously it would seem. They are even adding Welsh flags on the planes.
Are you sure?
this is Eurocypria
Looks close enough to what Britannia saw?
Ooh, alright then, a photo. You know you want it!
They only got 737s. They used to have A320s on lease from Cyprus Airways, but they where returned to Cyprus Airways. BTW, Cyprus Airways also owns Eurocypria.
Eurocypria, must have been a 737-800 with winglets?
must be at least a metre and a half, possibly two. (5 to 7 feet)
In september ’05 the first A330 will be delivered. Just one more year.
