Woah, is that Hunting Cargo a bristol britannia?
No, that is a Vickers Viscount. The Britannia is a lot sleeker and looks more like the IL18.
I turned it into a A319, but forgot to modify the reg.
The easyJet plane was to be expected. They are the only operator of the 4 overwing exit model. This plane is probably getting a lot of interest from the loco’s and charterers.
Mark L, if you do not stop this now you may find my boots up your arse in 2 weeks time. I will find you! 😉
It could also be lightning striking into a building!
Stop moaning you. I know what the English weather is like as i’ve been over on your side of the pond for about a year. It is better than the weather on my side of the pond. The SE is a good region, unlike the North.
From monday the 26th till wednesday the 28th. I have not decided yet on which days(s) I am going so pick a date and I’ll come. Try to choose a date with good weather! 😀
Sad to hear that. Hopefully we’ll see you here in the future.
Peter
I like the 737, but the red top on the 744 does not look right in my opinion. Maybe you should just let it go on like NW did in their previous livery. Curving it upwards looks odd.
BWIA’s no-claim bonus had been revoked quite a while back. This is their 2nd such incident in a month! Earlier a 737 was hit by a truck. Having that many hits is quite an accomplishment for an airline with such a small fleet. 🙂
Got this article from Airliners.net. According to the poster this message was printed in MEA’s december/january issue of CedarWings. He also said it was mentioned on Lebanese TV, but could not list sources.

MEA to expand service and join Skyteam in 2004MEA Chairman Mohamad El-Hout revealed that the company will join Skyteam in 2004 as a result of its alliance with Air France, opening up new prospects for the national airline. “The times require big alliances. Lufthansa, with a fleet of two hundred and fifty aircraft, has pointed to the necessity of broadening its alliances in order to remain viable. What then, would the case be for MEA, with nine planes?” he rationed.
Mr. El Hout said he was surprised by the trend in the Arab market of a proliferation of airline companies, while worldwide the times are prompting airline companies to join together for greater consolidation.
In the next three years, the aviation sector will be shaped by three major axes of alliance. They will probably be as follows: Air France/KLM; British Airways/Iberia; Austrian Airlines and perhaps Cyprus Airways; Lufthansa/SWISS and others.
“The capitalization of Arab companies altogether is less than one American company,” he added

Does Air Europa have scheduled service? I was under the impression they where a charterer.
KLM will join the alliance early September, and will then introduce the logos. Northwest anc Continental will join then as well.
Aeroflot will join next year, but I do not know when.
Bumping this thread back up with this little bit of news I picked up once more from the DSML list:
Hiya,
Noted this afternoon: G-BDXE European 747, active at AMS. The aircraft was
operating PY993 to Surinam (PBM = Parimaribo) . Guess the aircraft will
return tomorrow?
BRU has 737s and 320s? Cool, must get back there someday. All I remember from my last trip was ARJs and the occaisional BAe-146.
You got me on this one! I have no clue for which airline this 747 is.
