Does anyone happen to know on what route(s) the new planes will be used? And when in 2005 will the planes be delivered?
I don’t see PIK being too succesful given the high frequency of Canadian flights already from GLA by Air Canada, Air Transat, Zoom and Canadian Affair ? But good luck to them anyhow.
Who are Canadian Affair?
I have always found that BMI offer the lowest fares between the Netherlands and London.
You think that’s bad? Try http://www.untied.com/
Sounds cool. Good to hear that the TU204 is finally getting the sales it deserves.
excellent video. If you ever find some more vids or photos from them please do post them!
At least Finnair and Martinair recently got new ones. Also I believe lufthansa cargo is on the lookout for them?
KLM names their planes as follows:
B737-300/400: Sailers and explorers. Most of them Dutch.
B737-800/900: Birds.
B747-400: Large city that are (where) on KLMs route network
B747-300ERF: after old merchant ships
B767-300: Bridges.
B777-200: World heritage sites. However, the first 777 has been named after KLMs founder, Albert Plesman.
MD-11s: famous women
The regional fleet has not been givne names.
Martinair has named its planes after members of the royal family. However, none of the A320s and some of the MD11s and the newest 747 have no names.
SAS of course has the Viking names. I wonder how many have historical meaning, and how many have been made up? 😉
Just one thing, is this your own shot as otherwise you’d be breaking copyright and get the entire a.net community on your neck.
I hate it when AMS has two runways in use and all interesting stuff land on the other runway. That happens A LOT.
Did not go as the weather predictions where too dire for me to risk it. It’s still quite a drive for me. I did get to see the training run Thursday of the Swiss F/A18 and a formation of tuboprops while driving back from work (Veghel). The F/A18 was very impressive.
any chance of it appearing at Farnborugh?
I’ve so far flown from LHR, LGW, STN, AMS, EIN (Eindhoven, NL), NRN (Niederrhein, Germany), SXF (Berlin Schöneveld, Germany)
The best airports where AMS and STN. Both airport have a logical layout so you won’t get lost. The fascilities are great at both as well. Public transport at AMS is great, STN is acceptable but not nearly as good as AMS. Viewing fascilities are great airside at STN but not so landside, that the viwing fascilities at AMS are top notch is well known.
The worst airports are LHR and SXF. LHR is probably the only airport I ever got lost (that and BRU, but that was on a spotting trip landside only). SXF is a bit better, but still a maze. SXF was build in communist germany is looks very depressing. LHR was build a long time ago and maintenance seems to have been forgotten on more than a few places. Also, it is beyond me that LHR has managed to plant as many stores as they have into one building. Bluewater does not compare to LHR. 😉
Advertising ones site does not matter, as long as you keep it reasonable. Posting a topic every other day and sending out unasked for newsletters would be stretching it a bit.
it sure does, shame i’ll miss it. It won’t fly on the sunday show when i come over. Only the friday (23rd) and saturday (24th) show.
