Chips Belgian style with loads of salt. No mayo please!
I don’t really like the fatty English chips. Not to mention that horrible vinegar you put over it! That stuff is probably the only reason why the English cuisine is frowned at worldwide (not that the Dutch cuisine is any better mind you), cause the rest of the stuff I ate in London was really good. Even the full breakfast was easier to digest than I thought it would.
How is it possible to write a book about 100 (one hundred) years of Air France, when they are not nearly 100 years old?
happy birthday! 😀
An option is an agreement to buy a plane at the same rate.
Recently Spirit bought 30odd airbusses with another 30odd on option. The first 30odd will be bought no matter what (or else a cancelation penalty will have to be paid by Spirit). The second 30 odd are on option. They have the same price as the first 30odd, but Spirit decides later whether or not to take them.
Usually airlines pay a small additional cost to get planes on option. The main advantage is that you get the same reduction and payment terms as you had on your initial purchase. Another advantage is that when productionslots are awarded a converted option often gets priority over a new purchase.
As for the 737NG cockpit, I believe they are all alike.
With regard to operating two seperate fleets of both the 737NG and the A32#, that is very hard to say. By operating one fleet you can save money on spare parts and personnel training. The disadvantage is that you may not have the most efficient plane for a certain route.
Easyjet has said that individual fleets of 50+ planes can be used efficiently. Once you have more than 50 planes you get no additional benefit from the economies of scale. They said that in a press statement explaining why they took the A319 instead of the B737NG. The statement is probably still on their website, but I can’t be bothered to look it up! 😉
My car is a VW Golf from 1988. Only got it a week and a half.
To make Robbo happy I removed the plates. 😀

She is the queen mum of the Netherlands. She used to be the queen till 1980 when her doughter, Queen Beatrix, took over the throne. She was quite popular, in particular among the older people.
Although it is sad it happened, it is not much of a surprise really. She has been sick for quite a while and was 94 (!) already.
RIP

I remember that one as well from reading about it in AW. Isn’t that the KLM lounge?
It’s my dads fault, and he hates planes!
My dad is (was) a police officer. When the schengen area was still not active, there where a lot of border checks. There where not enough customs agents though so local police officers would spend half a year every 4 years at a mayor border crossing. My dad got stationed at Schiphol. At the end of his tour of duty (which he thoroughly hated) he showed me with my mom, brothers and grandparents around the airport. Been everywhere except for the ATC tower. Even been in a KLM 747 with cockpit and all.
Now with the Schengen treaty there are enough customs officials to handle the airports and ports. Therefore I won’t ever get a tour like that anymore. 🙁
I was about 10 years old back then so it impressed me enough to get hooked.
In the 2nd picture the grass needs urgent trimming. This will attract birds and is therefore dangerous! 😀
1) Go to jetphotos.net, airliners.net, planepictures.net etc
2) Pick a mostly white plane
3) Remove any markings still on the plane. Name, logo, the whole shebang. Make the plane completely white. Just use MS-Paint or another photo editor.
4) Save the file.
5) Go to jetphotos.net, airliners.net, planepictures.net etc
6) Pick the livery you want to paste onto the white plane you created earlier. Make sure the plane is at roughly the same angle as the white plane you made.
7) Open a reasonably advanced photoeditor. Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop etc.
8) Open the plane with the livery you want to copy.
9) Copy the part(s) of the livery you need to copy.
10) Paste the livery parts as a new layer into the white plane.
11) If necessary rotate and/or resize.
12) If necessary repeat step 9 to 12. For instance once for the fuselage, once for the tail, once for the winglets.
13) Open the back-up version of the white plane.
14) Copy the windows of the fuselage.
15) Paste as new layer in the modified photo. Because earlier you pasted the livery of another plane over the fuselage, you will likely have lost some windows.
16) Save file.
17) Upload.
18) start gloathing. 😀
Any photo of a (mostly) white plane will do really. I mostly use planes from Air France with the titles and tail painted out.
Also, sometimes it may be easier to use a plane with a different colour. If you want to make a hapag Lloyd express plane you are better of starting with a completely yellow plane.
do you use another technique?
