BTW, why are you celebrating a failed attempt at blowing up Houses of Parliament? I’d understand celebrating if Guy’s attempt had been succesfull! 😀
It appears to have its tail enlarged. Maybe that is enough?
I don’t think it looks good, I would prefer the Beluga.
I had one of those Daily Mail tokens as well, but decided not to use it. There where to many terms and conditions. They deciding the day and time of departure. Not quite convenient for me. In the end I ended up cheaper anway by booking my own flight! And that was booked at BMI!
Silly isn’t it, if you book a flight normally with BMI then you are cheaper of then when you have a token for a BMI flight!
Sorry I could not join you robbelc, there was a strike at the local train and bus company so I could not come. They only ever strike when you want to use it. I am already betting with some people that the NS and/or Eurostar won’t be running the 23th when I want to visit LHR.
Do you know what the Varig 737 was doing over here? And which airline flew RA-85669 (tu-154)?
With your next free flight I can perhaps join you! Visit the spots nearer to the runway!
Can RAF Hendon still handle flights or is it just a museum?
Isn’t that New York museum on a old aircraft carrier? How are they going to get the concorde on there, Concorde ain’t small!
Just got the infamous red crosses. 🙁
nice!
I noticed on the G-BNLO pic that the road is now completely closed for traffic when a plane taxies over it, when did they change that? Is it a large hindrance for photography?
No wonder I see more and more JAT planes around here, a women is giving directions! 😀
It will give a big boom.
The plane goes 180mph and needs to go 60 miles. The plane should therefore reach the airport in 20 minutes, that’s assuming it won’t crash earlier. So continue calculating:
The plane is a an altitude of 27,000ft and drop 1,500ft per minute. Multiply 1,500ft with 20 minutes and you get 30,000 ft. Since your starting point is 27,000 you have a shortage of 3,000 ft.
I use a Sony F717. No additional converters or anything.
They are?
I heard rumours that they would be part of the flyby with Concorde.
Anyway, with or without the RA, a flypast over the palace (or other large venues) would move some of the people out of the airport area. If only those people not really into aviation as much as we are.
Yes, but not all of them. The pics I uploaded a few days back are already on. These already had the links on the competition entry. The other ones not yet except for the Afriqiyah 320. I believe they are somewhere around #100 in the queue.
Last year at the Queens Jubilee they flew 1 Concorde with the Red Arrows over buckingham Palace. Would it be possible to do that again and ANNOUNCE IT WIDELY!
This would space out all the people. I would suspect that many people want to see it, but aren’t bothered enough to go all the way to LHR, especially considering the traffic mess we can expect.
(at the jubilee 1,000,000 people showed up)
Great stuff! Really love the Virgin one!
