This livery reminds me a bit of TNT and the new Gulf Air. I do not expect KLM to introduce new colours to the regional fleet anytime soon. The current regional livery is only a few years old.

On a sidenote, is that a F70 or a F28, the eniges seem a bit too small to be a F70.

Well Adam, I found just what you wanted! Its not the best shot (as the photographer acknowledged) but it is the only shot!

    Full size!

I for one do not like it! The two tones blue (1 for engines and 1 for belly) clash. And then, what is the blue doing there anyway! I prefer the old colours.

I do like the new logo though. The name Austrian Arrows is just silly. Austrian Error!

Yeah, I was talking about the book “No Frills, the truth behind the low-cost revolution in the skies”.

I haven’t read the new AW yet, I have got it but only had time to quickly browse through it. Looks very impressive indeed!

I read the book and was kind a dissappointed by it.

It does not really tell a lot of things we do not know, or that can not be found out with a 10 minutes google search. It has a lot of anecdotes (sp?) from the writer who seems to have had a good time when in the business.

If you want to know why low costs are succesful and the traditional airlines are less so, I suggest a search on a.net or this message board. You will get the same information without the writer telling how he got the information (I went to the island of *** to meet Sir Freddie Laker. I arrived at the airport and looked for my ride….. etc etc etc) or the complete life story of Sir Laker (he was born…. etc etc etc).

Its an interesting bedtime read, but don’t expect to base your dissertation on this book!

I think I know what old git means. I think he means “Mort Subite“. Haven’t tried it myself but seen it at work, I work at a beer whole saler. All that beer, and I can’t drink it… 🙁

You’ll probably know this site, but I’ll post the link anyway. It seems to have a rather comprehensive list with Belgian beers.

There was a message on the Dutch Spotter Mailing List discussing the future fleet of Air Holland. It was in Dutch, but I’ll summarize it:

    * PH-AHE will leave the fleet (return to lessor). Another unidentified 757 will join the fleet. Perhaps the PH-AHI, it used to be an Air Holland plane till they went bankrupt in 1999?
    * 767 PH-AHR will leave the fleet, but two other ones will join the fleet.
    * Air Holland will fly to Aruba for tour Dutch operator Arke Reizen.
    * Air Holland will be the European carrier for the Heineken Regatta at St. Maarten.
    * These 767s might be ex KLM but other sources (scramble message board) are talking about ex SAS.
    * The PH-AHR will join Sobelair/DCA flying between Amsterdam and Curacao.

The original message in Dutch, please note that you may need to have a Yahoo! account. In case you don’t have one, they are easy to get and free.

Does anyone happen to know a CHEAP hotel nearby. I am thinking of coming.

And a quick question for the frequent travellers. When I look on the internet to book a room, all hotels ask for credit card details. I don’t have one, does anyone know a way around this?

    Many thanks in advance!

    Alcohol for fuel?

Well, it keeps me going, but an airplane? I never heard of that!

I’ve seen that book at the LHS in Aalsmeerderbrug (near Schiphol), so it has been released to Europe. If I am not mistaken I have also seen it at one or more WHSmith’s in the UK.
