Is that a new livery on Martinair?? it’s ghastly

Actually, it’s a retro livery. It will stay on the plane till it is retired, which (rumours indicate) will be within a year or 2. The whole Martinair 767 fleet is apparantly to be retired and replaced with A330s.

For what it’s worth, KLM introduced a retro livery today as well to mark their 90th birthday. The retro bird of KLM is 737-800 PH-BXA.

Apparantly there was to be a 777 painted in Skyteam livery (much the same as the horrendous Star Alliance livery) but I have yet to see photos of that one. If true it will be on PH-BQO as it is doing an “honour lap” around the Netherlands along with PH-BXA, the DC-2 and a DC-3 with a L-139 acting as photobird.

The “honour lap” is the first in a string of activities this year to mark the 90th birthday. There is a photocompetition attached to it, to see who can best make a photo of the formation with a famous Dutch landmark. However, there is quite a bit of fog now. Add to that the fact that the promotion is not well publiced, had I not been a spotter I would definately not have heard of it, and it is safe to assume the competition will probably amount to nothing.

First of all, thanks to those that guided me towards the Malware killers. All seems well now. I’ve had “Stability” for 3 days.

Nowthen, after the rebuild of the C drive last week, I have an odd situation that could end up in disaster.
If I select the remove hardware icon (System try)………..my hard drives are listed. I have a single HDD partitioned into C D E. All three are viewable to remove…….I smell disaster if wifey/childey selects them.
How can I reslove this (On the PC….I don’t want a new wife LoL)?

Maybe it is possible for you to set up different accounts on your computer? One for the administrator (you) and another one for the wife and kids. You might even make a seperate one for the kids with more restricted internet access (net-nanny).

The side that has the sun in the back. So when flying eastbound I’d prefer to sit on the right, when going westbound I’d prefer to sit on the left. For overnights I don’t give a toss.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how attached are the neighbours to the cat, and how much do you want to have a good relation with them? :dev2:

    Written-Off!

    No really? :diablo:

I’d take Terry Tibbs offer before the pound drops further than the 1.11€ it’s worth as of today!

Since it was not my fault I will get the day value of the car. Depending on which source you look at this should be between 1000€ and 1500€. Knowing the insurance companies it will probably be closer to 1000€ then 1500€. While not quite what I was hoping for, it still beats a single £. I should hear back from them sometime mid next week.

Even less chance with the value being wiped off most cars these days 🙁

Though, ideal if you are a Wheeler Dealer! 😀

How does 13 y/o VW Golf with 220.000 kms on the clock sound?

    2008 achievements

    • New camera, Canon 30D.
    • New lense, 100-400L.
    • Spotting at CGN, which had been long on my to-do list.
    • I crashed the car a few days ago, not my fault and no injuries, but that has to be the most memorable event of the year. While not officially confirmed, the car is most likely a write-off. I hope to hear back from the insurance people in 2 weeks or so.

What I did not get round doing:

    • Spotting BRU, not been there since before SABENA went bust. Thing is, the weather (particularly wind direction) always seems to be bad during the weekends I have time to go spotting.
    • Spotting in the USA. Been on my to do list for 3 years now.

    Wish list 2009.

    • Spotting in the USA. Which might well be postponed another year due to the car crash.
    • Spotting in BRU. I suppose this will be one of my easier goals. Although I have been saying that for 5 years now.
    • Spotting in MAD. Been there last year and it is awesome! Weather is very favourable and Ryanair fly there for next to nothing. So it is a safe bet this will new-years resolution will actually happen.
    • Not aviation related, but I would like to start salary negotiations for the position I took late last year. The way things are going, if I start negotiations tomorrow, I should get a rough ballpark figure late 2009. Throw in HR efficiency and I should notice a wage increase by the time hell freezes over.
    • A 2009 Audi A3 would be nice, assuming I win the new-year lotery. If not I suppose I will happily settle for a 10 year old something with not too many KM on the clock.

    business.

Started at a higher position at work over a year ago, had my first official job interview 6 months ago, my second official job interview 3 weeks ago, and still waiting to hear if I qualify and what my salary will be. Having asked my manager about it last thursday (after some dip**** crashed into my car) I was told that my personal situation would not be ground to rush the process, but he would do his best. Which in our company is code for: “get out of my office I got better things to do”.

Normally I refrain from posting company related horror stories since I use my actual name instead of a alias like most people seem to find necessary. In this case, I make an exception as everyone at work knows how I think of them anyway. So yeah, when it comes to how management and HR handle their staff I’d say there is a fair degree of incompetence going around.

Suppose it might be time to work on my CV now.

The police haven’t quite managed to get here yet, some 35 hours after I reported its loss. But then it is 12 miles from the police station at Downham Market and it may not be their week for Norfolk’s incident car.

Report it as a accident and they’ll be on scene in 5 minutes with blues and twos. I must admit I know this from experience as I had a car crash two days ago. Fortunately no serious injuries and it was not my mistake, so sooner or later the insurance will refund me.

The other car hit me straight on the left front wheel. Suspencion and wheel assembly completely shot and probably the safety cage damaged as well since the driverside door was jammed stuck. While not officially confirmed yet by the insurance company, it is safe to assume the car will be a write-off.
