I really like that Fokker! Had not seen that variation on the MNG livery yet.

Great shots peter like the A330 NWA and is Jade cargo new? hope its not part off Jade goody 😀

    James

Jade has been around for 2 or 3 months now I think. Great Wall is new though, they restarted flying a few weeks ago after their AOC was revoked due to politics.

Splendid work as usual, Peter! 🙂

I really will have to find my way over to Amsterdam this summer……. 😎

Better make it spring or else you might miss this spot. It is going to close. Mo official announcement has been made, but depending on who you listen to it could be tomorrow or early 2008. Most people mention late may, so that is what I mentioned on my site.

Lovely pics and lovely dust spot 😉

That was put in on purpose so you could see how much I had to crop. 😉

Pieter, it was perfect weather for shooting at LHR yesterday, but, i’m not a fan of 09  Thought they may be part of Iberia, always nice to get a shot of something new.

Neither am I too fond of 09. It is just too far away to get to without having a car. With the new T5 terminal that should hopefully change. Mind you, I had expected the runway use to be 27 considering the wind (expected to be from the NW). Had I known that 09 had been in use I would not even have considered going to LHR. At least now I can know there are really good last minute fares (160eur) to be had from BMI. Something I will do in future.

Very nice work! Was temtepd to go to LHR yesterday myself with a last minute, but decided against it because BMI suddenly increased price.

The unknown carrier is Click Air, a new low cost subsidiary for Iberia. They fly mainly from Barcelona.

I thought that BD had a shortage in long-haulers. One would have thought that if BD had to get rid of a plane it would be the ArkeFly 767. After all, the amenities on board are nowhere near those on then A330, and some customers have been complaining about it.

Hi.WHAZAA is an opensource software project created with the aim of allow any institution to download, modify, install and use the software in production or for educational purposes (air traffic controlling/aerospace/aeronautics schools) for free.

Got no knowledge about the software at all. However, I would like to point out that most ATC-schools use the same software that the local ATC uses. After all, there is no use training someone for ATC only to have to eduacte him/her again to use the proper system. With that in mind I am wondering how large the market would be for your program.

Sorry to sound like a party pooper. Best of luck with your program!

Hi Paul, great photos and thanks for yesterday’s weather forecast as I will be there tomorrow enroute to Mallorca. The 737, N889NC belongs to Well Fargo Bank, so probably picking up some money to support the $!:D

Actually, Wells Fargo is a large leasing bank. So while the plane may technically be theirs alright, it is probably not operated by/for them.

The idea of replacing the WW 737s with E190s is stupid. It is an unproven type in LCC operations, I know BE are introducing them but they havnt proven themselves yet against the 737 or A319, again just my opinion.

JetBlue is doing quite well with their E190s I believe.

Then again we all know that the bmi group arnt the best at making desicions.

    Indeed.

Excellent shots! And I do like the antonov a lot!

going AMS end of April! be my first visit to that spot!

Likely the last too as the Kaagbaan spot will close late may. The Polderbaan and Zwanenburgbaan will still be available. Unknown if Aalsmeerderbaan will be accesible after the new construction. For all these runways a car will be required though!

    Have fun!

    Hi Gary,

I used the have the 70-300 APO before it broke down. It is a really nice lense that with good weather makes very good shots. In bad weather the results are less good, but for the money still very acceptable.

While it is a 70-300, I would not recommend using it above 250mm. But considering that digital cameras got a crop factor anyway that should still suffice for most airports.

Only disadvantage I had is that on really bright weather the blue sky would wash out to a greyish blue. With paint shop that can be corrected, but takes some time.

If you give me you E-mail (by PM if you want to keep it private) I will send you a few unedited sample images. The camera I use is a canon 10D.

Have no experience with the other lenses you mentioned.
