Just think how many nice liveries have been/will be replaced this.

Nice photos, just think how your shots will turn out with the canon. What kind of lense will you be getting?

She deserves all that’s coming to her. I mean, she used a weapon of gas destruction on a plane! On a plane I tell you! Just how stupid can she be. :diablo:

Actually not a one-off but a three-off. There was also a 737 in red and another in blue.

A few LHR bound flights have gone into AMS. Not sure if that is due to strong headwinds (bingo fuel) or due to the weather at LHR. From what I have heard at least 1 Qantas 747 and 1 Singapore Airlines 747.

FRA has gone downhill since the terrace was closed for renovation. Mind you, the terrace was never ideal as it faced the sun.

With a car you can still get some really good final approach spots. One of them I have been told is walkable from one of the terminals (15/20 minutes), but I am not sure how. And wind has to come from the west for this spot to be usable.

Ooooh err alright for some! Very nice, I’m defo gonna have to go down soon 🙂

Did you just stay on the terrace I take it?

Well, I may not be the photog but I know the airport inside out. These where all taken from the terrace.

What’s it like there for a full day,

It’s OK. Personally, I have grown tired of it especially considering the awesome alternatives around the perimeter. But then, I obviously know my way around the area.

not sure if I want to brave getting lost going to that car park for good views 😮

You should, getting there is pretty easy, and mid may the spot will close due to airport expansion. If you come during the weekend I might be able to chauffeur you around. Preferable around march/april though due to weather and the fact I am going to be moving soon which will take some time.

Nice selection. I really like that crop on the last photo, will try that one myself some day.

I’ll take the pink livery any day. Instantly recognisable, which is what you want for as your livery. This is just another generic white livery.

The flag on the tail reminds me of Tanzania. However, the Tanzanian flag has diagonal bars whereas the flag on the tail has horizontal bars. The colours match though.

Very nice. Did not know you could get close to the runway at LTN. Maybe something to try next summer. Is that spot accesible by foot/public transport from the terminal?

FlyGlobespan with the right light could appear to have a silver fuselage. Was the bottom red?

    Or maybe Jet2?

    That’s nothing.

This is the Dunsfold 747. It weighs a lot less because it does not have engines, pax, fuel, freight……. It is just an empty airframe.

Sorry if I misunderstand you, but you want to go spot a few hours at AMS in the evening? In that case you won’t see much. It is dark at 1800. During the winter the terrace already closes at 17:00. Airside the windows are huge so spotting is possible, but due to the darkness a tripod may come in handy.

Just been to BCN a few weeks ago. Airside you can spot, but photography is bad due to backlit. Landside, unless you got a car you might as well not bother. Saves a lot of frustration. Just go into BCN, a beautiful city.

Can’t speak for Russia, but in the Netherlands the number of muslems has been increasing steadily. But to say they are becoming the mayority? Well, they got quite a way to go. Here are the most recent stats I could find. The percentages below have been gathered from the national statistics bureau CBS.

       year   muslem   christian   no religion
       1993   3,7
       1994   3,9
       1995   4,1
       1996   4,2
       1997   4,4         53            39
       1998   4,6         52            41
       1999   4,9         51            41
       2000   5,1         51            41
       2001   5,3         51            41
       2002   5,5         51            41
       2003   5,7         49            42
       2004   5,8         50            42

As you can see, each year the number of Muslems in NL increases by 0,02%. In real terms that means roughly 30’000 to 40’000 per year. In 2004 there where 944’000 muslems in NL. So this year will probably see the 1’000’000th muslim.

It is also immediately obvious that the number of christians is much larger, though dropping slowly. The number of christians is even larger then the number of people without religion, which I must admit surprised me. I had expected there to be more atheists in the Netherlands. The number of atheists is on the rise though.

For the christian/atheists I only got information from 1997 to 2004, and no numbers behind the decimal mark. Please bare that in mind when looking at these statistics.

I have not got more recent information and can honestly not be bothered to look them up as I feel this will illustrate my point quite nicely already. 😉

Lastly, bare in mind that the average European muslim is a lot more liberal then your average Saudi muslim. So even if they where to become the mayority in a few 100 years, then I still would not expect Sharia to be introduced. They do tend to be a vocal lot though!
