What interesting announcements are expected at the Farnborough Airshow?
“Ding dong, could the driver with license plates JZ-LG-30 please remove his vehicle from the disabled spot”. 😉
Officially Rekkof is still trying to get their act together. Any chance they will call it quits? Also, KLM is expected to place an order to replace their 733s and 734s with 738s and 739s (ERs?). Possibly converting a few more A330 options. Also, I would expect a timeframe for the 773s KLM announced they would get.
Here are some of my shots, more at my site:
Note the blow up doll in the last window.
The best performance of the day, easily beating the Blue Angels.
I hate to say this, but personally I though Fat Albert put on a more impressive display then the Blue Angels themselves!
I was very surprised that during the Blue Angels display a lot of passes where done over the public. Is this not banned in Europe? In fact, earlier that day a Spanish F18 had been given the red card, and according to the announcer would be punished by having to eat at the mess.
Very nice photos! I went saturday as well. Very hot (too hot for my liking). I will put some photos online later, probably tomorrow.
How long did you spend in the traffic jams?
Well it was kinda expected, and I think they will be the better of the them all, especially as SOU is their largest hub, and also if they operate one of their new E195 on the route, when they come into service.
Not only expected, but already announced as well including on this board by yours truly. FlyBE will not use the E195 though, instead a DHC-8 (version anyone?) will be used. Perhaps in the future this can be upgraded, but that I do not know. Let’s first see if the route will catch on before we start discussing upgrades.
My bet, if this route becomes (very) succesful for any of the airlines then it will not be long before KLM barges in. If the other airline is lucky KLM will set up a codeshare with the most popular airline. If the other airlines are unlucky KLM will use its own metal and will have no difficulty kicking the competition.
My bet is that Scott Airways will remain on top, for as long as KLM continues feeding it. If KLM decides to go for FlyBE or own metal, end of story. BMI is not a real contender really since they announced their flight to be winter schedule only.
– Finally I saw an aircraft (wow 😀 ), a B747, which appeared to have a Cathay tail and a redish special scheme to the front, any ideas who this was or pics of the cathay special (if it was cathay)
No red Cathay planes. Could it have been Malaysia? They have a special livery that is predominantely red.
Of course you can buy shares in them. Just as well as how europeans can buy shares in Boeing and the likes.
Personally, I would expect it to be a rather good move. Airbus has a habit of postponing revealing new orders until they can get a lot of publicity from it. That is why usually Le Bourget and Farnborough see a lot of orders. Recently Airbus has had feworders, so chances are they have been stockpiling a few nice ones for Farnborough next month.
The new orders will increase the price of EADS, sell fast cause after that you can expect another long slow period where prices gradually decline.
disclaimer: In no way do i accept responsibility for you loosing your lifes savings or part thereof. If however you do gain money from my dribble, I expect it to be shared 50/50.
I do not care if this is a decision from Ryanair, ENAC or the Pope. If they seriously believe I am going to put over a 1000 euros worth of camera equipment into the hold, they are smoking some serious ****. No way a bagsmasher comes even close to my camera.
Why am i on thin ice?
To put it straight to the point, a few of your posts could be considered flamebait. This one being one of them.
Can only find top 30s, but MAN is not listed in them.
To give you a clue. For 2005 Long Beach (LGB) is listed as number 30 with 353’011 movements. Manchester has “only” 234’835 movements. By comparison, Atlanta was #1 with 980’386 movements.
In Europe Charles de Gaulle is largest with 522’619 movements (world ranking 11) followed by Frankfurt (490’147 #16), Heathrow (477’888 #17) and Amsterdam (420’633 #20).
It must be high as it is a very busy airport
Respectfully, that argument is a bit pale. MAN only has two runways, one of which is closed half the day. So it does not take much to appear busy. A good number of airports in the world ranking have numerous runways. For instance, Atlanta and CDG have 4, Schiphol has 6, Atlanta has 7 (with more proposed) etc.
Do not forget the Smithsonian museum at Dulles! One of the largest aviation museums in the world.
It’s old, it’s fake, and on top of that it is hosted on a lot of sites that do NOT try to install spyware. Unlike this site.
For those who can not be bothered to open the link, it is the Heineken add from a few years back.
Hmmm…. Maybe it was parked upside down? 😀
Well, VLM is Belgian so I would not be surprised actually. 😉
On the underside!
Thanks for the comments, chaps. 🙂
By the way, Peter….. OO-VLL was present at MAN this morning.
Can you guess what colour it is? :diablo:
Should be the new one… right? No…? Pretty please?
Great photos, especially the Legacy. Never noticed before that the Legacy’s wingbox has been enlarged compared to regular ERJ’s. But then, I have never seen a Legacy except for Farnborough and Le Bourget.
