Nice photos! The first and third photo are interesting. The KLM 737 still has the old KLM/NW seal instead of the Skyteam logo. Only three planes still got them, all of them 737s.

A few days ago I did another one of my mad 4 flights in a day trips, flying LBA-AMS-LPL-AMS-LBA.
Next time, skip the AMS-LPL-AMS leg, and take the bus to the Kaagbaan for some proper spotting! A lot cheaper and well worth loosing two flights for!
Yeah they were taken from inside the terminal. They just had a bit of treatment in Photoshop to reduce the greeny-blue look the windows gave them!
A small tip for next time, if you use the manual white balance you can avoid the green tint.
Point the camera at something outside you know to be white (AF… strike that: CO, LH) and make a photo zooming in on the white part only. Then set the manual white balance. Now all photos will be taken with the white fuselage you just shot as a reference point. So anything you shoot outside will loose the green tint.
Of course you must remember to reset the white balance when you are outside again or shooting indoors. Otherwise the colors will be off.
A somewhat random thing to find in an airport but nonetheless quite cool. It’s a shame the most obvious thing in the second shot is my own reflection!
Officially they are intended to relax people. However, I find their location next to the sushi shop rather dubious! 😉
Those last couple of shots were a bit fishy, though. Still, eel get the hang of it one day.
Damn, is it friday already?
There was a lot of competition in the market. There was the ATR, the (then brand new) F50, the dash 8 of various versions and both the ERJ and CRJ entered the market too. Against that competition the margins where small.
Also, while the Saab may have all the advantages of the RJ combined with the economics of the turboprop, it still looked like a prop. From a passengers point of view they where old fashioned. Passengers like jets more, and since a ERJ/CRJ was not much more expensive to buy airlines went for the jet. With hindsight it may have been smarter to get the saab as its economics are superior.
Also remember that the fuel price at the time was much lower then today.
TU-144 CCCP-77112 at the Sinsheim museum. 🙂
That was rather a bit too fast for my liking.
Well, you’re next. Make it a hard(er) one please!
I want Crusade to be finished, a spin-off series of Babylon 5 that lasted only half a season. Was cancelled even before the first episode aired. This show showed even more potential then B5 in its first few eps, and it is by far my favourite show.

The photo is crap, but the plane is interesting.
Bonus points for registration and location.
Thanks all!

Gentlemen, might I just wake you up here:

That bloody ladder is more expensive then my car, with enough money to spare for another lense…. and a B&Q stepladder!

Not the F60 though, only four were made and they are all with the Royal Netherlands Air Force.
I like it, but am happy it is only a one-off!
That’s a shame but not to worry, I thought with it being during the week you might not be able to. Your website has been very helpful btw!
It’s not just that, but from july 24th to august 13th I got my holiday (my first since my october MAN trip). So baring that in mind I do not think the chances of getting another day of in august are good.
Anyone up for a Farnborough meet?
I will not be able to attend the 30/08 AMS meet.
Fresh from the paint shop so perhaps there is indeed no reg.
Damn, that would mess up my photo archive big time!
Well, all wings flex somewhat. Even seen a 777 or 330 on rotation? The wingflex is really noticable. So much so that head-on it seems that the wingtips are taller then the fuselage. It might well be that the pictures above show the wings in rotation stage.
Or course it is also possible that the wings are really curved. But it would seem to me that this would require a lot of strengthening (= weight penalty!). In particular since the wings will still have a flex tendency, getting curved wings will bring a flexing wing faster to breaking point.
