My guess is crew training?
3 months of practice on a new type before show-time isn’t excessive.
I believe Thomson were due to get their 787 in Feb for a May start.
Thanks Tartan, I love the new scheme too. It was one of the newly delivered -300ERs, hence the new livery. Flight 50 from Dallas got the upgrade, I believe LAX and JFK will also be on 77Ws by the summer! 😀
Thanks guys, I’ve heard it’s a hybrid between Cubana and Air France?
If they named it that, they’d have to drop the ‘London’ title.
London Croydon International sounds crap!
Also Gatwick isn’t anywhere near Croydon?! Surely Crawley would be a more appropriate title? And didn’t Croydon gain a name and reputation from the London riots?
Whilst I do truly believe there is no real threat from the recent global warming, let’s not cherry pick data Steven. That doesn’t do anyone’s argument any favors. I notice the graph conveniently cuts off the data from 1905 to present day, which some estimates predict have increased at least 2 degrees over the past century.
So realistically we’re now at -29.5 degrees, similar to that the Roman’s experienced.

Interesting that the FT journalist didn’t do a follow-up just to check the validity of Mr Babaei’s comments.
If the FT can have the wool pulled over their eyes by a failing small-scale airline exec – I wonder what else is printed without due journalistic diligence in our national newspapers?
I believe what Mr Babaei means is his fleet has been, on average, with the company less than 10 years – although this is quite different from what he said.

It’s good to see the sanctions are working though 🙂
It makes me come over all patriotic. 🙂
And so you should, they’re an excellent airline. They’ve certainly found their niche in the market over the past few years and now make they’re older and larger Australian counterpart look like the fat ugly sister. :p
I did question the Hobbit safety video’s credentials – I thought there was too much going on for people to take in the safety points presented. However this A320 safety video is clearer, I like it 😀
Fantastic set 🙂 The ‘filth’ on the Malaysian A380 looks like de-icing fluid stains, although why only the rear two thirds are dirty beats me.
Maybe the forward section is made of a different composite material which is less prone to static charging, so less dust is attracted to it during flight? Just a thought.
And you are correct, the Korean Air 777 does look very smart.
I have read rumours that BA will be forming a partnership with CX on the kangaroo route, to replace the one QF ditched. So maybe this is the rationale behind BA’s decision to drop the code-share, they have a plan B?
For once the rumors were correct, hehe

It’s only a trial and I don’t necessarily think it’s a bad thing, providing that is the full fare doesn’t creep up over time.
With precision like that they have to have been insiders, people that knew the airfield and its movements like the back of their hand. So whoever fails to turn up to work tomorrow… 😀
Fantastic set, looks like you got quite a few exotic birds. The Royal Bahrain flight and the Lufthansa A340? :O Does anyone know the story behind its visit?
A great variety of aircraft you captured indeed; LHR is the jumbo capital of the world, but after looking at some of those it would appear it is now becoming the 77W capital as well 😀
I’m guessing this was the flight?

And just read something in the independent “The insurance for air transport – handled sometimes by airlines themselves or external insurance companies – is usually relatively cheap because it is considered to be the safest way of transporting small high-value items, logistics experts say.” 😀
This is being reported as possibly the largest robbery in history, €50 million (£43 million) in uncut diamonds.
What I’d like to know is what security’s like at Brussels? At LHR there’s round the clock 24/7 surveillance and constant police presence at the perimeter fence. Either these guys knew exactly what they were doing (insiders?), or there’s been a serious breach of security.
