But I’m still not convinced it’s a financially viable undertaking once the millions have been spent on it’s restoration to flight status……I mean just what is the hourly cost of operating a Vulcan….surely only a Govt. or maybe Paul Allen has the disposable cash for that
deviating slightly, I think the £2.7 million from the HLF is not a huge sum compared to the size of the overall lottery fund – what’s the value of the unclaimed prizes that roll back into the fund every year for instance, and how much gets added each week by the fools buying tickets (that includes me!)?
The decision has been made, and the people who negotiated the funding really need some credit for putting together a convincing argument for the project, whatever your views on the viability of the project.
In fact I would go as far as to suggest that we all get behind this project as it’s success would surely have a beneficial effect on the funding of aircraft conservation in the UK.
