In 1984 KLM sponsored a reinactment of the Uiver flight by the US owned N39165 (s/n 1404) which was chartered and flown to Australia in KLM PH-AJU “Uiver” colours

I shot this pic after NC39165 flew to Oz and back, and before she went back to the US. The aircraft was still owned then by Colgate W. Darden, the man who eventually sold his DC-2 to the Aviodrome museum.

But he main reason for this photo-plug :p is in the caption.

On the subject of bacteria it is known fact that there is more bacteria and nasties inside your mouth than inside your anus.

Time to change your eating habits then? 😮

Monsted-Vincent MV-1 Starflight -where is it now?

    See http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?t=49692

I still have no answer to this question. I’ve posted inquiries to this aircraft on several forums and aviation related websites, e-mailed several persons -like the curatorial staff- of the Louisiana State Museum (never even got a reply 😡 ). So, still a mystery this one.

Ooooh, the good old “no one but me is a good driver” controversy….

I have one of those 4×4’s, a beautiful venerable old Land Rover 90D:
    http://www.cardatabase.net/?pid=00062087 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 Lovely eh?

I bought this car not to annoy, intimidate or threaten anyone, but because its is so strongly built that it reached it’s age of 20 years and 500.000+ km’s without effort, some TLC and a spare part every now and then. Try that with the more common tin boxes!

Owning this vehicle makes me no better being or a better driver, I’m not compensating for, well, you know, I do not feel superior over smaller cars, I just appreciate it.

I drive buses for my living, including the articulated ones (http://tinyurl.com/2k76gm) and as a professional I assure you: it depends ENTIRELY on the attitude of the driver, it really doesn’t matter if you drive a Nissan Micra, a Lincoln Navigator or even a bicycle. And, by the way, I too make mistakes and errors in traffic. You just have to realize that every now and then.

Indeed the AEC Matador is the truck on which the bowser was based. Another slightly smaller was the Bedford QL.

As in this 1975 Airfix kit? I must have the finished models somewhere…
