Sounds like another inspirational job carried out by the teams at Brunty there, any before / after pics of 333 buccsociety ?
Unfortunately not, but I am sure that I can get some to post up here in the near future.
A bit more info on the Canberra mentioned above:
B6 mod WT333 is run up every 6 or 8 weeks and was last run on saturday, she ran for 25mins and cycled to 4k.
333 also takes part in the fast taxi events held at Bruntingthorpe usually twice a year, although the increased cost of insurance for these shows is becoming more of a problem.
As far as we know 333 is the only ground running/fast taxi Canberra anywhere, but i would be glad to hear of others !
Almost certainly she will never fly again,…….but lives on….
If you saw this aircraft now, you would not believe what condition she was in when the guys first got hold of her some 10 years ago, no engines, stripped cockpit, missing components etc, the list is quite exhaustive, but 333 has had a dedicated team behind her and they have worked miracles to get her to the status she is now.
Bamel, if you know or are in contact with young Roger Wintle, ask him if he would like to borrow a pressure washer, he’ll know what your talking about!!:D
There’s also Bristol Britannia XM496 at Kemble, kept in ground running condition by the Britannia Aircraft Preservation Trust.
Quite correct there Ant, but a problem with Number 3 engine has prevented any run ups for a little while, they also have a problem with a collapsed nose leg shock, a busy time ahead for Derek and the boys.
Buccaneer’s as follows:
XX894 at Bruntingthorpe – Taxiable.

Stick to your guns Sywell and good luck, the Nimbys right to appeal is something I have come across many times before with the football club I support.
Do come to the stand at the next brunty meet, myself and all of the other engineers are normally there talking Lightning nonsense or generally floating about Andy’s lovely birdies
Or stood propping the bar up!!:D 😀
Nick, when is WP321 going to be lifted over the fence? Keep up the good work.

Crikey Mark, your hoping are’nt you 😀 😀 😉
it would be nice if HHA’s Buccaneer could do some shows.
Especially as 2008 see’s the Bucc celebrate 50 years since the first flight by prototype XK486.
Have a great day Bex, from us all at the BBS.
Cheers Lindy’s Lad, plenty of great guys (and possibly girls but i’ve never seen them!) at Brunty
Rusty will have your guts for garters saying that 😀 😀
Dave, check your PM’s
This rumour is very true, I have spoken to one of the trustee’s and he confirmed it, hence why we have had to put the Bucc 50th at BAM on hold.
We should know more within the next month.
You got that one right!! I’m surprised your still up 😀
