    Plazz.
thanks for the pics I see what you mean. shame they were damaged. A good metal shop should be able to repair them.

Yes they can Peter, at BAe Brough, their is a chap who was willing to do them but he said that they would have to be transported to Brough and left until they got around to doing them, days turn into months, months turn into years.

Surely that lovely Sea Vixen isn’t stored outside all winter is it?

I know Naval aircraft are generally quite robust but surely some cover from the elements for the only airworthly Sea Vixen isn’t too much to ask for??

Indeed, she is not stored outside all Winter but If you knew just how jam packed the Engineering hangar is at the moment you will see why she is outside.
They have had to move one of the aircraft, which is under servicing, into the main display hangar.

Shame her cockpit is gutted but like you say hopefully she finds a good home!

We have a good home for it but not the funding required to move a Bucc, anyone want to take me up on the offer? We are more than able to dismantle and transport it, but the costs involved are high and you could see little change from five figures 🙁

Now, I’m not into Helo’s, but can someone tell what is the hulk that resides at RAF Colerne?

Please note, it is not the Wessex that is listed in W&R, its far too small and it also has its tail boom still intact.

Call me whatever you will, but was this thread not about XX885/G-HHAA? 😡

I do like the way that threads get turned into something that totally misses the point!!

I believe that their are still a few issues that need to be resolved before the Bucc can return to the air, but it is looking good.

Sooo, If the CAA aren’t bothered, and you are not on the public highway, any idiot can spark up a Lightning or a Vulcan and hare about a Private airfield?

The CAA may not be too bothered but I have it on very good authority that the MOD are monitoring everyone very closely.

I’ve had higher quotes for motorcycle policies..

The quote was for Public liability only, what made things seem expensive was the fact that she was never run up during the duration of her insurance!! 😮
Most,if not all of the funding came from my own back pocket, looking back on it, it was a bad bit of managment, but we live and learn.
